Easy Overnight Oats: Cinnamon, Banana & Peanut Butter

I'm sure most of you already heard of overnight oats and some of you probably tried it. It's a breakfast hero that’s more than just a time-saver; it’s a morning game-changer!

Picture this: a jar filled with goodness, quietly sitting in your fridge overnight, doing all the hard work while you sleep and rest. This isn’t your average cereal or grab-and-go meal; it’s a wholesome blend of rolled oats, a hint of cinnamon, the creamy goodness of peanut butter, and the sweetness of ripe bananas, all harmoniously creating a breakfast worth waking up for.

But what makes these oats stand out? Well, for starters, they’re a nutritious powerhouse. Oats, a whole grain, offer a hefty dose of fiber, keeping you full and satisfied throughout the morning hustle. The addition of bananas not only adds natural sweetness but also brings potassium to the table, while peanut butter contributes healthy fats and protein to kick-start your day. And let’s not forget the touch of cinnamon, not just for its warm flavor, but also for its potential health benefits, from antioxidants to anti-inflammatory properties.

The beauty of overnight oats lies in their versatility. Sure, the cinnamon, banana, and peanut butter combo is a classic winner, but the canvas for customization is vast. Feeling adventurous? Toss in some chia seeds for an omega-3 boost or sprinkle in some nuts or seeds for extra crunch and nutrients. Love a fruity kick? Add in berries or diced apples. Craving a touch of sweetness? A drizzle of maple syrup or vegan yogurt can elevate the flavor profile effortlessly.

These oats aren’t just a breakfast; they’re a canvas waiting for your creativity. Whether you’re aiming for a protein-packed powerhouse or a fruity medley, the overnight oats recipe is your playground. So, while the base recipe is a stellar start, don’t shy away from adding your twist to make it uniquely yours. After all, breakfast is the start of your day; might as well make it deliciously yours!

You will need:
For 1 serving

  • 120 ml. of plant-based milk (oat milk is used in the recipe)
  • 50 g. whole oats
  • 0,5 teaspoon of cinnamon

For the toppings:

  • 1 teaspoon of agave syrup
  • 1 banana
  • 1 date
  • 1 tablespoon of peanut butter

Preparation
1.Mix the oats with the cinnamon and oat milk. Refrigerate overnight.

2.The next day, chop up one date into small pieces.

Slice the banana.

  1. Mix the oats with agave syrup and chopped date.

The banana can be added to the oats or, after slicing, arranged in the bottom of a container of your choice and the oats poured over it.

It's as simple as that. Feel free to add any other ingredients of your choice and enjoy this morning delight!
