WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU READ THIS TUTORIAL VERY CAREFULLY, FROM BEGINNING TO END, BECAUSE EVERYTHING IS IMPORTANT
Today we bring you some information that will be very useful for everyone, whether you're part of the vegan family or not—that is, for all Hivers, whether or not they're currently active on the platform. We're talking about the RedditPosh initiative, conceived by @acidyo. This initiative isn't new; it's been running for over two years. It basically consists of projecting Hive outside of Hive, more specifically onto the Reddit platform. This is very beneficial, as it gives blockchain a presence and diffusion in other spaces.
Now, what does this initiative consist of? In short, it consists of sharing our content, that is, the posts we have published on Hive (NEW OR OLD) on Reddit. Obviously, this implies that, just as we do on Hive, we also respect and interact in the subreddits (subreddits are the communities that exist on Reddit). Remember that we are Hive ambassadors. With this action, in addition to making Hive known in other spaces, we will also obtain rewards in liquid $hive and $posh.
To join this initiative, you must follow a series of steps, which will be explained in detail below. It's worth noting that the images are in Spanish, but they're self-explanatory. Let's get to the details.
STEP 1: OPEN AN ACCOUNT ON REDDIT. IMPORTANT: YOU WILL NOT USE ANY OF YOUR HIVE KEYS HERE
If you have an account on Reddit, you can skip this step. Otherwise, you'll need to open your account, which you'll do as follows:
- Open Reddit in your browser.
- When you open a new account on Reddit, the system automatically assigns you a random username, which usually consists of alphanumeric characters. However, if you're interested in choosing your own username, or even keeping your same Hive username (recommended), you'll do the following: Click the orange button in the upper right corner that says LOG IN.
- Next, a pop-up window like this will appear. Since you don't have a Reddit account yet, you'll enter your email address in the corresponding space (indicated by the red arrow), and then click on the word REGISTER (see the second red arrow). A code will be sent to your email, which you'll use to open your account. There, you'll see the option to choose your own username and password. IMPORTANT: YOU WON'T USE ANY OF YOUR HIVE KEYS HERE, BUT YOU'LL ENTER A PASSWORD YOU CREATED.
- You can then log in with your username and password. Your email address will be useful for recovering your account if you encounter any issues. To log in, search for Reddit in your browser, open it, and click the red button in the upper right corner that says LOG IN. This screen will appear. Just fill in the username and password fields and click the orange button below that says LOG IN.
- You're now logged into your Reddit account. You'll see your avatar in the top right corner. You can edit this and complete your profile later.
- Now, there is something VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU SHOULD AVOID when opening an account on Reddit, and that is that for the first 24 hours you DO NOTHING. DO NOT VOTE, DO NOT COMMENT, DO NOT POST. And it is that in Reddit there is a mechanism called SHADOW BANS, which consists of your account being silenced, muted, it is as if it did not exist for others. This mechanism was created by the general administrators of Reddit (not by any subreddit), to avoid bots and trolls. You can learn more about this mechanism in this Reddit post
That's all for the Reddit registration process. Now on to HIVE
STEP 2: LINK OUR REDDIT ACCOUNT WITH THE HIVEPOSH WEB
Now we are going to link the account you opened on Reddit, with the HivePosh website https://hiveposh.com/
- Open your Reddit account https://www.reddit.com in your browser and leave it open.
- In parallel, in the same browser, you'll open the Hive Posh website https://hiveposh.com To do this, you'll use Hive Keychain.
- The following screen will appear. If you look closely, on the left, there's an orange button that you'll click to link your Reddit account. On the right side is the table showing the users with the most Posh tokens. If you scroll down, you'll see a bar that you can click to claim a portion of these tokens (you can do this periodically). Once you link your Reddit account to the HivePosh website, the screen shown here will appear. You can now log out of the HivePosh website.
THIS CONCLUDES THE PROCESS OF LINKING OUR REDDIT ACCOUNT TO THE HIVEPOSH WEBSITE. NOW, LET'S SEE HOW TO PUBLISH ON REDDIT
STEP 3: POST OUR HIVE POSTS ON REDDIT, WHETHER NEW OR OLD
With your Reddit account open, you can search for subreddits (communities) that are relevant to the content you want to share. In the following post provided by @acidyo, you can read a list of subreddits that are compatible with Hive. There you can see them categorized by specific niche:
Hive-Friendly Subreddit List
- Enter the name of the subreddit you want to find in the search engine offered by Reddit. In this case, we'll search for the Vegan Recipes subreddit.
- Clicking on it will open this screen. As you'll see, it offers a series of options at the top. Click on COMMUNITIES, and there you'll see a list of subreddits or communities that match your search.
- Click on the Vegan Recipes subreddit and enter it. There, on the right side of the screen, you'll see the button to join the community and become a member. You'll also see community details, such as its founding date and the number of subscribed members. You can also see a box below your profile picture that says USER TAGS; when you expand it, you have several options. Scrolling down, you'll see the community rules and moderators. IT'S IMPORTANT TO RESPECT THE RULES OF EACH SUBREDDIT. Just as Plant Power Vegan and other Hive communities have rules, subreddits also have their own rules, which we must respect. If you have any questions, you can also send a private message to the group of moderators by clicking on the envelope icon.
- Now let's post on Reddit. To do this, scroll to the top of the screen and see a button with a plus sign + that says CREATE. Click it. A screen like this will appear. If you look at the top, you'll see several options: TEXT, MULTIMEDIA, LINK, POLL, ASK ME ANYTHING. Click on the LINK option.
- This part is very important. In the LINK URL box, you'll enter the link to your post published on Hive. The title you used for your post will immediately appear in the title box. It's recommended to change the title and use it only in English (of course, depending on the subreddit you're posting on).
- Below the box where you placed the link to your post, there's a space to write your text. It's recommended to provide a brief description of your post and invite readers to read it. It's also a good idea to include the link again there, for easier access.
- Now, to give your post more visibility, it's ideal to upload some photos that readers can scroll through and reveal the essence of your post. To do this, click the MULTIMEDIA option, and there you can upload photos (and videos) for your Reddit post. This way, your post will look great.
- If you want to add more photos, hover your cursor over the photo you've uploaded, and an ADD button will appear. Clicking it will allow you to add as many photos as you want. I uploaded three photos here.
- Next, you'll need to add a tag to your post. To do this, click the ADD TAGS button in the upper left corner, above the photos you've added. It's worth noting that each subreddit offers different tags and tags. In the case of Vegan Recipes, you can view the options in the pop-up window. Since you're sharing your Hive post, click the LINK tag, and the tag will be included.
- The next step is to double-check your post, make sure you've included the link, modified the title, and edited the text and photos. Then, click the PUBLISH button. You can see how it looks here. You'll know you've done it right when you receive a comment from @redditposh on the Hive post you shared.
AND THIS IS THE GENERAL WAY TO PUBLISH YOUR HIVE POSTS ON REDDIT, OF COURSE, TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE CHARACTERISTICS AND RULES OF EACH SUBREDDIT. NOW LET'S LOOK AT THE REWARDS AND SOME FINAL CONSIDERATIONS
REWARDS
You'll be able to earn both liquid $hive and $posh. If someone else shares your content, whoever brings it to Reddit will receive 80% of the reward, and 20% will go to the author. If you share your own content, you'll get 100% of this reward, which will also be split into 80% and 20% in your wallet. This is very attractive, as you can monetize your old and new posts.
FINAL CONSIDERATIONS (FOR NOW)
Sharing our Hive content on other social networks is very beneficial, both for our blogs and for the blockchain, as we're expanding it beyond our borders. However, we must keep the following in mind:
- We're the visible face of Hive in other spaces, so let's do our best. Respect the rules of each subreddit and avoid spamming.
- Share your own content, what you've written on your blog. There's nothing more beautiful than sharing our own creations.
- In this community, Plant Power (Vegan), as in Amazing Drinks and Foodies Bee Hive, the author's express permission is required for another Hiver to share their content on Reddit. If the author does not want their content to continue being shared by others, they can request it in a comment on the shared post. Furthermore, some subreddits require the author's consent to share their content there. An example of this is the Vegan Recipes subreddit.

ES MUY IMPORTANTE QUE LEAN CON MUCHA ATENCIÓN ESTE TUTORIAL, COMPLETO, DESDE EL PRINCIPIO HASTA EL FINAL, PORQUE TODO ES IMPORTANTE
Hoy traemos traigo una información que será muy útil para todos, ya sean parte de la familia vegana o no, es decir, para todos los hivers que estén actualmente activos o no en la plataforma. Y estamos hablando de la iniciativa RedditPosh, la cual ha sido ideada por @acidyo. Esta iniciativa no es nueva, pues ya tiene más de dos años funcionando, y básicamente consiste en proyectar a Hive fuera de Hive, más específicamente en la plataforma Reddit. Esto es muy beneficioso, ya que le da presencia y difusion a la blockchain en otros espacios.
Ahora bien, ¿en qué consiste esta iniciativa? En resumen consiste en compartir nuestro contenido, es decir, los posts que hemos publicado en Hive (NUEVOS O ANTIGUOS) en Reddit, obviamente esto implica que al igual que hacemos en Hive, también respetemos e interactuemos en las subreddits (las subreddits son las comunidades que existen en Reddit), recuerden que nosotros somos los embajadores de Hive. Con esta acción además de dar a conocer a Hive en otros espacios, también obtendremos recompensas en $hive líquido y $posh.
Para poder integrarnos en esta iniciativa, es necesario hacer una serie de pasos que serán explicados con detalle a continuación. Cabe señalar que las imágenes están en Español, pero que por sí mismas se explican. Vamos con la información.
PASO 1: ABRIR UNA CUENTA EN REDDIT. IMPORTANTE: AQUÍ NO VAS A USAR NINGUNA DE TUS LLAVES HIVE
En caso de que tengas una cuenta abierta en Reddit https://www.reddit.com puedes omitir este paso. Caso contrario, es necesario que abras tu cuenta, para lo cual harás lo siguiente
- Abrir Reddit en tu navegador.
- Al abrir una cuenta nueva en Reddit, el sistema te adjudica automáticamente un nombre de usuario aleatorio, que por lo general tiene caracteres alfanuméricos. Ahora bien, si te interesa elegir tu propio nombre de usuario, e incluso, mantener tu mismo usuario de Hive, (recomendable), harás lo siguiente: Dar click en el botón naranja ubicado en la esquina superior derecha que dice INICIAR SESIÓN.
- Seguidamente, aparecerá una ventana emergente como esta. Como aún no tienes cuenta en Reddit, colocarás tu correo electrónico en el espacio correspondiente (señalado con la flecha roja), y a continuación harás click en la palabra REGISTRARSE (ver la segunda flecha roja). A tu correo, llegará un código, el cual utilizarás para abrir tu cuenta, allí verás la opción para elegir tu propio nombre de usuario, así como tu contraseña. IMPORTANTE: AQUÍ NO VAS A USAR NINGUNA DE TUS LLAVES HIVE, SINO QUE COLOCARÁS UNA CONTRASEÑA CREADA POR TÍ.
- Luego podrás entrar con tu nombre de usuario y tu contraseña. El correo electrónico te será útil para recuperar tu cuenta, en caso de que se te presente algún problema. Para entrar a tu cuenta podrás hacerlo así: Buscas Reddit en tu navegador, abres, y le das click en el botón rojo de la esquina superior derecha que dice INICIAR SESIÓN, y te aparecerá esta pantalla, sólo debes llenar los espacios de usuario y contraseña y darle click al botón naranja de abajo que dice INICIAR SESIÓN.
- Ya estás dentro de tu cuenta Reddit. Podrás ver tu avatar en la esquina superior derecha. Este lo podrás editar y completar tu perfil posteriormente.
- Ahora bien, hay algo muy importante que debes evitar al abrir una cuenta en Reddit, y es que durante las primeras 24 horas NO HAGAS NADA. NO VOTES, NO COMENTES, NO PUBLIQUES. Y es que en Reddit existe un mecanismo llamado SHADOW BANS, que consiste en que tu cuenta es silenciada, muteada, es como si no existiera para los demás. Este mecanismo fue creado por los administradores generales de Reddit (no por alguna subreddit), para evitar los bots y trolls. Puedes conocer más de este mecanismo, en esta publicación de Reddit
HASTA AQUÍ EL PROCESO DE REGISTRO EN REDDIT. AHORA VAMOS CON HIVE
PASO 2: ENLAZAR NUESTRA CUENTA REDDIT CON LA WEB HIVEPOSH
Ahora vamos a enlazar la cuenta que abriste en Reddit, con la web HivePosh https://hiveposh.com/
- Abre tu cuenta Reddit https://www.reddit.com/ en tu navegador y déjala abierta.
- En paralelo, en el mismo navegador, vas a abrir la web Hive Posh https://hiveposh.com/. Para ello vas a usar Hive Keychain.
- Te aparecerá la siguiente pantalla. Si observas bien, a la izquierda, está un botón naranja en el que harás click para enlazar tu cuenta Reddit. Del lado derecho está la tabla en donde se muestran los usuarios con mayor cantidad de token posh. Si deslizas hacia abajo, verás una barra, la cual puedes hacer click y reclamar una fracción de estos token, (esto lo puedes hacer periódicamente). Una vez que vincules tu cuenta, Reddit con la web HivePosh, aparecerá la pantalla como la ves aquí. Ya puedes desloguearte de la web Hive Posh.
HASTA AQUÍ EL PROCESO DE ENLAZAR NUESTRA CUENTA REDDIT CON LA WEB HIVEPOSH. AHORA VAMOS A VER CÓMO SE PUBLICA EN REDDIT
PASO 3: PUBLICAR EN REDDIT NUESTROS POSTS DE HIVE, YA SEAN NUEVOS O ANTIGUOS
Con tu cuenta Reddit, abierta puedes buscar subreddits (comunidades), que sean acordes con el contenido que deseas compartir. En el siguiente post que nos facilitó @acidyo, puedes leer una lista de subreddits que son compatibles con Hive. Allí puedes verlas categorizadas de acuerdo al nicho específico:
Hive-Friendly Subreddit List
- Coloca el nombre de la subreddit que deseas ubicar en el buscador que te ofrece Reddit. En este caso buscaremos a la subreddit Vegan Recipes.
- Al darle click te dará esta pantalla. Como verás, en la parte superior te ofrece una serie de opciones, darás click a comunidades, y ahí te desplegará la lista de subreddits o comunidades que se relacionen con tu búsqueda.
- Hacemos click en la subreddit Vegan Recipes, y entramos a ella. Allí, del lado derecho de la pantalla, podrás ver el botón para unirte a la comunidad y hacerte miembro. También podrás ver los datos de la comunidad, como es su fecha de fundación, la cantidad de miembros suscritos. También puedes ver debajo de tu foto de perfil, una casilla que dice ETIQUETAS DE USUARIO, al desplegarla tiene varias opciones. Al deslizarte hacia abajo, podrás ver las reglas de la comunidad, así como los moderadores. ES IMPORTANTE RESPETAR LAS REGLAS DE CADA SUBREDDIT. Así como en Plant Power Vegan y en otras comunidades de Hive existen reglas, las subreddits también tienen sus propias reglas, que debemos respetar. Si tienes alguna duda también puedes enviar un mensaje privado al grupo de moderadores, pulsando el icono de un sobre de correo.
- Ahora vamos a publicar en Reddit. Para ello subirás a la parte superior de la pantalla y verás un botón con un signo más + que dice CREAR. Haz click allí. Saldrá una pantalla como esta. Si te fijas en la parte superior, verás varias opciones: TEXTO, MULTIMEDIA, ENLACE, ENCUESTA, PREGÚNTAME LO QUE QUIERAS. Darás click en la opción ENLACE.
- Esta parte es bien importante. En la casilla que dice ENLAZAR URL colocarás el link de tu post publicado en Hive. Inmediatamente se reflejará el título que colocaste en tu post en la casilla de título. Es recomendable modificar el título y colocarlo sólo en Inglés (claro, depede de la subreddit en donde estés publicando).
- Debajo de la casilla en donde colocaste el link de tu post, está un espacio para escribir un texto. Es recomendable hacer una breve descripción de tu post, e invitar a los lectores a que lo lean. Allí también puedes volver a incluir el link, para una mayor facilidad de acceso al lector.
- Ahora bien, para darle más visibilidad a tu publicación, es ideal subir algunas fotos, que el lector pueda deslizar y muestre la esencia de tu post. Para ello, pulsarás la opción MULTIMEDIA, y ahí podrás subir las fotos, (también videos) para tu post en Reddit. Así quedará estupenda tu publicación.
- Si quieres añadir más fotos, colocas el cursor al margen de la foto que has subido, y allí se visualizará un botón que dice AÑADIR. Al darle click, podrás agregar las fotos que consideres necesarias. Yo aquí subí 3.
- A continuación deberás incluir una etiqueta para tu post. Para ello harás click en el botón que dice AÑADIR MARCAS Y ETIQUETAS, que se ubica en la esquina superior izquierda, arriba de las fotos que has insertado. Cabe señalar que cada subreddit ofrece distintas marcas y etiquetas. En el caso de Vegan Recipes puedes visualizar las opciones en la ventana emergente. Como estás compartiendo tu post de Hive, harás click en la etiqueta LINK, y queda ya incluida la etiqueta.
- Lo siguiente es revisar bien tu post, que hayas incluido el link, que hayas modificado el título, incluido el texto y las fotos, y seguidamente das click en el botón PUBLICAR. Aquí puedes ver cómo queda. Sabrás que lo has hecho bien, cuando recibas un comentario de @redditposh en el post Hive que has compartido.
Y ESTA ES LA FORMA GENERAL DE PUBLICAR TUS POSTS HIVE EN REDDIT, CLARO, TOMANDO EN CUENTA LAS CARACTERÍSTICAS Y REGLAS DE CADA SUBREDDIT. AHORA VAMOS A VER UNAS CONSIDERACIONES FINALES
RECOMPENSAS
Podrás obtener tanto $hive en líquido como $posh. Si otra persona comparte tu contenido, quien lleve tu contenido a Reddit, recibirá el 80% de la recompensa y el 20% irá al autor. Si compartes tu propio contenido, obtendrás el 100% de esta recompensa, que igual llegará fraccionado (80% , 20%) a tu wallet. Esto es muy atractivo, ya que puedes monetizar con tus posts antiguos y nuevos.
CONSIDERACIONES FINALES (POR AHORA)
Compartir nuestro contenido Hive en otras redes sociales es muy beneficioso, tanto para nuestros blogs como para la blockchain, pues estamos proyectándola fuera de nuestras fronteras; sin embargo, debemos tener en cuenta lo siguiente:
- Somos la cara visible de Hive en otros espacios, así que demos lo mejor de nosotros. Respeta las reglas de cada subreddits y evita hacer spam.
- Comparte tu contenido propio, lo que has escrito en tu blog. Nada más bonito que compartir nuestras propias creaciones.
- En esta comunidad, Plant Power (Vegan), como en Amazing Drinks y en Foodies Bee Hive, se requerirá el PERMISO EXPRESO del autor para que otro compañero Hiver comparta su contenido en Reddit. Si el autor no desea que su contenido siga siendo compartido por otra persona, puede solicitarlo con un comentario en el post compartido. Es más, algunas subreddits establecen que se requiere el consentimiento del autor para compartir su contenido ahí. Ejemplo de ello es la subreddit Vegan Recipes.

Me alegra que te haya gustado el tutorial. Generalmente los bloqueos de los posts en Reddit se deben a varios motivos. Uno de ellos es que como usuarios, somos desconocidos en las subreddits, y los moderadores pausan los posts mientras revisan el contenido. Otra razón es que se haya vulnerado alguna norma comunitaria de la subreddit, y es por ese motivo que en el texto insistí mucho en que se leyeran y respetaran dichas reglas en cada comunidad.
Lo que puedes hacer, luego de esperar un tiempo prudencial que puede oscilar entre 6 y 24 horas, es comunicarte con los moderadores de la subreddit y solicitar información respecto a tu post, que te digan la razón por la cual ha sido silenciado.

Sin embargo, hay cosas que aún desconocemos de Reddit, por lo que aún con este tutorial es posible que algunas subreddits silencien nuestros posts, a mí me ha pasado; por eso voy a hacer una segunda publicación con ciertos tips que les puedan orientar en el proceso de compartir el contenido en esa red social.
