Wishing a wonderful day to all my dear friends! How are you doing today? After completing my child’s school-related work, I returned home later in the afternoon. Since today is also a holiday for my husband, and with tea time approaching as I arrived, I decided to prepare a quick recipe perfect for the occasion. I made this recipe without using eggs, butter, margarine, or leavening agents. It’s a crispy, vegetarian-friendly treat that I’m excited to share with you. Using just a few key ingredients, let’s explore how to make this delightful dish step by step.
Materials Used.
Wheat flour 250 g.
Salt powder to taste.
2 small of boiled and mashed potatoes.
A little water as needed.
Coconut oil 200ml.
A few finely chopped curry leaves.
A little chopped onion.
A pod of green chillies cut into small pieces.
1/2 Teaspoon of pepper powder.
1/2 Teaspoon of turmeric powder.
2/3 teaspoon of chili powder.
Now, let’s prepare this delicious recipe! . First, we need to prepare the filling. For this. Take a pan and add about two tablespoons of coconut oil. Once the oil heats up, add the chopped onions and chilies. Sauté them well, stirring occasionally, to ensure even cooking. This will form the base for the flavorful filling!
Next, add the following spices to the sautéed mixture. Chili powder, Turmeric powder, Black pepper powder Salt to taste, Mix everything thoroughly, allowing the spices to coat the onions and chilies evenly. Let it cook gently, ensuring the flavors blend well.
Next, add the mashed or finely diced potatoes to the spiced mixture. Mix thoroughly to ensure the potatoes are well coated with the spices. Allow the mixture to cook for about 2 minutes, then remove it from the heat.
Take a 250g of wheat flour in a mixing bowl. Add a pinch of salt and a tablespoon of coconut oil. Gradually add water, a little at a time, while mixing, until a smooth and pliable dough forms.
Now, take a flat tray and follow these steps: Sprinkle a small amount of wheat flour onto the tray to prevent sticking. Place the prepared dough on the tray. Use a rolling pin to roll out the dough evenly into a thin sheet. Ensure the thickness is uniform for best results.
Now, take the cap of a bottle or a small round cutter .Press it gently onto the rolled-out dough to cut out small, circular shapes. Repeat the process until all the dough is used up. Arrange the dough circles neatly on a flat surface, as shown in the images below.
Next, take the small dough circles that were prepared earlier. Place a small amount of the potato filling in the center of each circle. Fold each circle in half to form a semi-circular shape. Seal the edges firmly using a fork, ensuring the filling stays intact and giving the edges a decorative finish.
Next, take another pan and add some coconut oil. Place it on the stove and heat the oil until it is hot. Once the oil is ready, carefully add the prepared patties to the pan. Fry them until they turn a golden brown color, ensuring they are cooked evenly.
The patties prepared in this way can be shared with your loved ones and enjoyed during tea time. I believe you will also try making them this way. So, for now, I’ll say goodbye. Wishing you a wonderful day!
