Trying to Make a New Recipe: Green Chili Sauce, Tofu Skin with Pumpkin.

Hello Vegan Lovers...
Today I will try a new menu using tofu skin. In Indonesia, tofu skin is usually served in the form of tauco with green chili sauce mixed with quail eggs and is usually served at wedding receptions. Today I will try a new menu, namely a combination of tofu skin and pumpkin. I will make a tofu skin green chili dish with pumpkin.

Tofu skin green chili with pumpkin is a dish with a spicy, savory and fresh taste that comes from pumpkin. To produce delicious green chili sauce, use a half-old pumpkin, because old pumpkin usually contains a lot of fiber and will affect the taste of this tofu skin green chili sauce with pumpkin.

Tofu skin is a by-product of tofu making. Hot soybean extract (soy milk) will form thin sheets on the surface, these sheets are collected and drained to form tofu skin. Tofu skin has a dry texture and will become soft when cooked.

The ingredients

The ingredients I use to make tofu skin green chili sauce with pumpkin are :

4 packs of tofu skin
1/2 kilogram of pumpkin (choose a young pumpkin)
100 grams of green chilies
2 tomatoes (choose half ripe)
5 pieces of cayenne pepper
5 cloves of garlic
3 cloves of shallots
1 segment of ginger
200 mL water
1 tablespoon salt
1 packet of ground pepper
50 mL cooking oil

Preparation

1.Cut the pumpkin, remove the seeds, but I didn't throw away the skin.

2.Cut the pumpkin into several pieces, then wash it thoroughly to remove the mucus. Adjust the shape of the pieces to suit your individual tastes, the pumpkin pieces do not affect the taste of the green chili sauce.

3.Cut and wash the tofu skin, Usually tofu skin is sold in long shapes and when cooked it will not fall apart, therefore before cooking the tofu skin we can cut it into several pieces

4.Cleanly wash green chilies, cayenne peppers, garlic, shallots, tomatoes and ginger.

5.Slice green chilies and cayenne peppers obliquely,the shape of the pieces of green chili and cayenne pepper can affect the taste of the green chili sauce, with slanted cuts the green chili sauce tastes spicier.

6.Slice the ginger obliquely, slice the ginger as thinly as possible.

7.Slice the garlic and shallots.

8.Lastly slice the tomatoes.

How to make

1.Heat the cooking oil, but don't get too hot.

2.Saute the spices until wilted.

3.Once the spices are wilted, add the tofu skin.

4.Add pumpkin pieces.

5.Add salt, stir until combined.

6.Add water, stir until mixed.

7.Add ground pepper to taste, cook until the water is reduced.

8.Once the water has reduced, turn off the stove.

The result

Spicy, savory and fresh green chili sauce with tofu skin and pumpkin is ready to be served. This is my own recipe and this is the first time I have made this recipe. good luck
