Hello, happy Sunday to all. Our friend @mipiano has a very nice proposal in her community about collections by month, and each month has a different theme, some as interesting as others. If I don't get into this initiative I don't realize how many other things I collected without knowing it.

I would love to start this proposal for the theme of January 2024, my birthday month, and with my favorite collection... mugs. I have long collected mugs by unit, set, size, material, souvenirs, gifts, etc. Painfully, they have not only been collector's items, but I like to use them and share them with friends and family.

This entails the risk of losing them with constant manipulation and indeed, so it was, many of them broke, the plastic ones became ugly with time and use, others were lost mysteriously, hahahaha, I say mysteriously because suddenly one day I realize that I have stopped seeing them without explanation.

It is that usually, when we traveled to camping sites, beach, mountain or we stayed in cabins, I took some cups, especially in Merida, and I do not know if it was on one of those occasions that I lost some of them. It also happened that the kids used to get in the car and drink something and there were cups and glasses left there. What I can say for sure is that if I count all the cups I have had, the collection would be immense.

At the present time I own 14 large and 18 small ones, the large ones are of permanent use because I do not serve coffee to a few people, but the small ones I keep as souvenirs, I use them when many people visit and I serve small portions of coffee, but generally, few of us get together at home and we drink coffee in the larger cups.

My latest mugs to be added to the collection are the snowman and teddy bear mugs, and I have several on the list to buy such as one with my name initial, a Hive mug, a pewter mug and a cowgirl mug...I love the cowgirl and sunflower designs. I have looked for pewter mugs but strangely haven't found any.

My son's favorite mug is the big yellow one. My daughter also collects mugs and I gave her a couple recently to add to her collection.Of the stainless steel set I only have two left, the white one that says “Coffee” was my mom's, as was the gray one that was the lid of a thermos she used. The cardboard one is a souvenir from a walk, and the hummingbird ones are souvenirs from events in Orinoco.

The small mugs have been Mother's Day gifts that I have kept for years, and my favorite is the clay one with the flag of my country. When I integrate new pieces to my collection, I will share them.

Nuestra amiga @mipiano tiene una propuesta muy bonita en su comunidad acerca de las colecciones por mes, y cada mes tiene un tema diferente, unos tan interesantes como otros. Si no me interno en esta iniciativa no me doy cuenta de cuántas otras cosas coleccionaba sin saberlo.}

_{Me encantaría iniciar esta propuesta por el tema de enero 2024, mes de mi cumpleaños, y con mi colección favorita... las tazas. Desde hace mucho tiempo colecciono tazas por unidad, por juego, tamaño, material, recuerdos, regalos, etc. Dolorosamente, no sólo han sido piezas de colección sino que me gusta usarlas y compartir con éstas, entre amigos y familiares.}

_{Esto conlleva al riesgo de perderlas con la manipulación constante y en efecto, así fue, muchísimas se quebraron, las de plástico se fueron poniendo feas con el tiempo y el uso, otras se perdieron misteriosamente, jajajaja, digo misteriosamente porque de repente un día me doy cuenta que he dejado de verlas sin explicación.}

_{Es que por lo general, cuando viajábamos a sitios de campamento, playa, montaña o nos hospedábamos en cabañas, yo llevaba algunas tazas, sobre todo en Mérida, y no sé si fue en una ocasión de ésas que extravié algunas. También pasaba que los niños acostumbraban subirse al carro tomando algo y quedaban tazas y vasos ahí. Lo que sí puedo asegurar, es que si hago un conteo de todas las tazas que he tenido, la colección sería inmensa.}

_{En la actualidad poseo 14 grandes y 18 pequeñas, las grandes son de uso permanente porque yo no sirvo para tomar café de poquitos, pero las pequeñas las guardo de recuerdo, las uso cuando son muchas personas de visita y sirvo pequeñas porciones de café, pero por lo general, nos reunimos pocos en casa y tomamos café en las tazas más grandes.}

_{Mis últimas tazas integradas a la colección son la del muñeco de nieve y la del osito, y tengo en lista varias por comprar como una con la inicial de mi nombre, una de Hive, una de peltre y una de vaquitas… me encantan los diseños de vaquitas y girasoles. He buscado tazas de peltre pero extrañamente no he encontrado.}

_{La taza favorita de mi hijo es la grande amarilla. Mi hija también colecciona tazas y yo le regalé un par recientemente para que aumentara su colección. Del juego de acero inoxidable sólo me quedan dos, la blanca que dice “Coffee” era de mi mamá, al igual que la gris que era la tapa de un termo que ella usaba. La de cartón es un recuerdo de un paseo, y las de los colibríes son recuerdos de eventos en Orinoco.}

_{Las tazas pequeñas han sido regalos del día de las madres que conservo hace años, y mi favorita es la de barro con la bandera de mi país. Cuando integre nuevas piezas a mi colección, las compartiré.}
