The Faith & Beliefs - Saraswati Puja Celebration

Two days ago, Indians celebrated Republic Day along with Saraswati Puja . The festival is celebrated across different region in honor of Goddess Saraswati. People worship Goddess Saraswati to get enlighten with knowledge and to get rid of lethargy, sluggishness and ignorance.

Saraswati is the goddess of learning, arts and cultural fulfilment. She symbolises universal intelligence, consciousness and knowledge. She is often seen playing a musical instrument and riding on a white swan. Hindus may worship Saraswati in order to seek her aid with their studies or their musical skills

The festival also marks the preparation for the arrival of spring season. The festival is celebrated in common style. Statue of Goddess were set up at each locality and then she is worshipped for two days. As I am living in rural area, I love the way people and kids were showing enthusiasm and prepairing for the celebration. Especially in the village school. A number.ber of kids swarm the places to offer the prayers.

The statue were placed at one corner of the room and prayers were done by the priest. The school kids alongwith the svhool teacher were present to worship the Goddess. As svhool is the best place for knowledge and learning, the festival is celebrated in grand way. All kids visited the places at once. But looking at the inside crowd many prefer to stay outside. The number of shoes were dispering outside while kids were praying their heart out.

The room were decorated by the svhool kids. They make their own collection and did by themselves. Ypu cannot expect much more from the village kids who were studying in government aided school. The celebrstion was not so glamorous. But like the way the poor kids turn up for the event. These kids were hard working g and life already taught them the hard section in early stages so they are all prep up to get better for future.

Such faith and enthusiasm were not seen in the urban kids. I hardly seen them praying or worshipping this day like the village kids do. These kids show a lot of respect and offer prayers for two days. The second days they all set to say good bye to the Goddess and they take out a grand procession to bid adiu. DJ , dance and music. They keep circling the area till late at night and then immersed the idol in local water body like ponds or lakes.

What unique I observe is that these poor people know how to enjoy life and make it big. They are happy in all kind of celebration and not like rich urban kids who always fascinates glamour and swag. The festival does ended but the kids keep their gard eork in their studies throughout the year and wait for next year to seek blessing from Goddess Sarawati.
