RE: Sneak Peek - Freechain / Dan Hensley monologue

in Threespeak9 months ago

Dan points out that dollars are assets owned by the legacy financial system. Well, so is the internet. It can be, and with ever greater frequency, has been censored by the USG forcing Fakebook and Twatter to ban and delete factual posts, for example, and even just shut off, by Iran, Egypt, Hong Kong, and now France, during unrest.

Web3 requires a web to be 3 on. If we don't own that physical infrastructure we use someone else's only at their leave to do so. Myriad mechanisms are potentially able to prevent transactions in crypto from being transmitted on the network infrastructure privately owned by the legacy financial system. They can just stop transmitting BTC, or any other protocol, just like Cloudflare just stops serving websites it doesn't like. If folks turn to encryption, they can just stop transmitting encrypted data.

The software is useless without hardware to run it on, and AFAIK there is no fallback hardware to run Web3 on if they rugpull it out from under us. Dan has significant investments completely dependent on permission from the legacy financial system to have value. So far I have not seen him address this issue at all. Maybe he hopes no one will notice that they can just quit transmitting his data and bankrupt him.

I hope folks that need their money act to keep it from being vaporized. I've been swindled and defrauded by Citi of everything I owned, and know better than to have any trust or confidence in grifting banksters. Web3 depends on trusting the owners of the internet we use, and it's utterly untrustable.

Address this issue, please.

Thanks!

And that is being built, 1 step at a time. Even 3speak now rewards you for storing videos you choose on your own drives. We are definitely going in that direction. Witnesses using their own hardware (not all). The momentum exists. If there is will we will get there.

Address this issue, please.

Theres only so many minutes in a documentary. So many stories to tell.
Maybe if we are blessed to make a series out of this, who knows. ;)

Keep your thoughts ready for the premiere if youre going to Hivefest. We are extremely excited to see what this community thinks in relation to what you shared here.
