The merry company of the great Mr. Helios and Triplet today has replenished with Monsieur Monocle. Half a day I sewed a dress for him and picked up a hat. During this time, the sun managed to have some fun without me. When I went to the field trials of the new companion, the sun only occasionally peered through the clouds.

If someone is interested in more detailed technical information, I will be happy to answer all questions. In short, the story of Monocle is as follows.
I disassembled the old inoperative movie camera and removed the lens from it. The lens block has a complex structure. I took only a meniscus lens. The rest is not needed here. A piece of water pipe (50 mm diameter) was cut off according to the focal length of the lens. Another segment of the same length was fixed to the adapter M39 / NEX. One pipe fits snugly into another pipe. Thus, by expanding the pipes, I can adjust the focus.
On the outside of the lens, I strengthened the removable diaphragm - a ring made of black plastic. I will make some more of these rings with different hole diameters. Today I was just in a hurry to try it as it is.
To seal the pipe in the pipe, I temporarily used an insulating dielectric tape. All this construction is temporary. It serves only to clarify the parameters.
On this, with the technical side, I will finish and move on to the first trials of Monocle in action.

Я разобрал старую нерабочую кинокамеру и снял с неё объектив. Линзоблок имеет сложную конструкцию. Я взял только линзу-мениск. Остальные здесь не нужны. Отрезок водопроводной трубы (50 мм диаметра) отрезал согласно фокусного расстояния объектива. Другой отрезок такой же длины закрепил на переходник М39/NEX. Одна труба плотно входит в другую трубу. Таким образом раздвигая трубы я могу настраивать фокус.
С наружной стороны линзы я укрепил съёмную диафрагму - кольцо из чёрного пластика. Я сделаю ещё несколько таких колец с разным диаметром отверстия. Сегодня я просто спешил попробовать как есть.
Для уплотнения трубы в трубе я временно использовал изоляционную диэлектрическую ленту. Вся эта конструкция временная. Она служит только для уточнения параметров.

Here, all three are untreated. I must say that adjusting the focus is quite difficult. Too many aberrations distort the picture in the viewfinder.

Today I did not try to find any special angles and views. It was important for me to try Monocle in different conditions and understand what can be expected from it. The first photo is an ordinary rain ditch, not very clean and not at all picturesque. However...
Next we have a view of the windowsill and from the window. I think that the main thing to get interesting shots at Monocle is light. I will deal with this in detail later.
Сегодня я не старался найти какие-то особые ракурсы и виды. Мне важно было попробовать Монокль в разных условиях и понять, что от него можно ждать. Первое фото обычная дождевая канава, не очень чистая и совсем не живописная. Однако...
Дальше у нас вид подоконника и из окна. Думаю, что для получения интересных снимков на Монокль главным является свет. С этим я буду подробно разбираться позже.

Now I'm interested in installing old lenses on a Sony A7II camera. In this case, the monocle that I collected from the lens of an old movie camera was used. The focal length was about 85 mm. I will look for a wide-angle lens.
