After each creation in the book of Genesis the bible says, "And God saw everything He created was good." According to the Bible, the garden of Eden was the definition of extreme beauty and abundance. Adam and Eve lacked nothing and enjoyed the presence of God, who often comes around to fellowship with them. They were living in a state of innocence and God originally intended that we'll live that way forever.
There were all manner of fruits in the garden, like the fruit of the Tree of knowledge of good and evil, which God said not to eat. The Tree of life was also right there before them unrestricted. If Adam and Eve had obeyed God and ate from the Tree of life in that state of innocence they would have lived forever and that was the original plan of God.
But after they ate the forbidden fruit at the prompting of Satan against God's command, God had to chase them out of the garden to prevent them from eating the fruits from the Tree of life in their corrupted nature, which would have rendered them irredeemable. God chased Adam and Eve out because of the love He has for humanity, so that He could redeem them. Anyone who surrenders to Jesus can enjoy the restored state.
