POINTS OF WHAT I LEARNT.
I understood from our study that false prophets has been in existence for many thousand years but it's effect is more intense in our time. The bible is warning us to be ware of them so that we will not be their victim. We should not listen to any doctrine that is not of Christ. We should only adhere to the teaching of Christ because he is the only one authorised to teach the doctrines of God. The word of God should be our standard of learning. We should not believe every spirit, but we should try them to know if they are of God. When a teacher or preacher contradict the word of God, certainly such person is a false preacher or teacher. We should compare the doctrine of other religion to know if they are evil or if truely they are of God because the formula of being good is to abstain from all evil and cleave to what is good.
HOW DO WE CALL UPON GOD?
I understood that sometimes in our lives,we experience helplessness and difficulties,at that time in our life we should pray to God because praying is a commandment of God. Many prayers are just in vain because God does not listen to the prayer of sinners. When a person praying is evil, God does not hear such prayer but if the person praying is upright, God is pleased. The prayer of the wicked is an abomination unto God.
HOW IS THE RIGHT WAY OF PRAYING THAT IS IN ACCORDANCE TO THE WORD OF GOD?
The Lord said to the early Christains not to pray using vain repetitions because it prohibited by God to pray repetitively. God listen to the smallest prayer of the righteous. God is not deaf for us to keep repeating our prayers. Our prayer should be few and simple. It is prohibited for us to pray with the intention of showing it off to men. Prayer is a private matter between us and God. As christains,we should not always stand while praying to God but we should knee down while praying because it is the most respectful Prayer to God.
In the bible, kneeling down is in a horizontal position which means an act of humility and respect.
I also learnt that if a man pray with his head covered that it is a lack of respect to God. Women should have a covering while praying to God. The head of the woman is the man, the head of Christ is God and christ is the head of man.
Prayer is more powerful while doing the will of God .
FORMAL BELIEF
I thought when our prayers are lengthy, that is when God will hear us the more.
HOW DOES THE STUDY AFFECT ME.
The study has made me understand that for God to listen to our prayers is by shouting or praying repetitively. God can still listen to our prayers even when we make it short and simple.
