MCGI TOPIC REVIEW || Is Engagement Required Before Baptism?

This is clear about baptism and marriage. The clear teaching about the baptism and marriage are two entirely different matters with distinct spiritual meanings.

Baptism is just a divine commandment, an act of obedience and submission to the will of God. This symbolizes that repentance and washing away of sin is shown in Acts 22:16 where Ananias told Paul, why tarryest thou? Arise and be baptized and wash away thy sins. This is a call on the name of the Lord.

Brother Eli made emphasis that nowhere in the Bible was it written that one must be married before you can be baptized. Marriage, on the other hand, is the matter of the flesh while baptism is the matter of the spirit.

As 1 Timothy explains that those who begin to feel sensual, who desire often to seek marriage, that does not make marriage the same for both. This clearly differentiates it from baptism which is just pure spiritual. Therefore, it is foolish for pastors to demand marriage before baptism for it is not according to the scripture.

Baptism is an immediate response to the faith. Once a person understands the teachings of Christ and believers, he or she must also be baptized, whether married or engaged or single. Salvation should never be delayed by just mere human tradition or worldly condition.

There is nothing like such in the bible, marriage is for replication of offering here on earth whereas baptism is being obedience to God's word to have eternal life.

I strongly believe that there is no need of engagement before baptism.

Baptism does not stop marria

Engagement and baptism are two different things so engagement is not required for baptism
