Many people have different ideas about what meditation means, but for Christians, true meditation is not the same as what the world teaches.
We were meant to understand by the bible that eal meditation is about focusing on God’s word and putting it into action every day.
Psalms 1:2-3 explains this well: “But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.” This means Christians should read the Bible daily, think deeply about what it says, and live by it. When we do this, we become like a healthy tree planted by rivers of water strong, fruitful, and blessed.
Some people think meditation is only sitting quietly or emptying the mind like some do in other cultures. But Christian meditation is different it is filling our mind with God’s truth. For example, when you read a verse about kindness, you don’t just read it and forget. You think about how to show kindness at work, at home, or in school.
The Bible also warns us in Titus 1:14 not to follow human rules or stories that turn us away from the truth. Instead, we should follow God’s commandments because they lead us to Heaven.
A simple way to practice meditation as a Christian is to read a part of the Bible every morning and every night. Pray and ask God to help you understand it, then practice it during the day.
When Christians meditate on God’s word day and night, they grow stronger in faith and closer to God. This is the true way to meditate and live a life that pleases Him.
Meditation is a quiet time you and your God alone. It should be practiced in a quiet place.
