Are we eager to know more about the Lord and share everything we have learned from him?

The days came when David was to die, and he commanded his son Solomon, saying, 2 I follow the way of everyone on the earth; strive, and be a man. 3 Keep the precepts of the Lord your God, walking in his ways, and observing his statutes and commandments, his decrees and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, so that you may prosper in everything you do and in everything what you undertake; 4 that the Lord may confirm the word that he spoke to me, saying: If your children will keep my way, walking before me in truth, with all their heart and with all their soul, never, he says, will you lack a man on the throne of Israel .
5 You know what Joab the son of Zeruiah has done to me, what he did to two generals of the army of Israel, Abner the son of Ner and Amasa the son of Jeter, whom he killed, shedding the blood of war, and putting war blood on the belt that was on his loins, and on the shoes that were on his feet. 6 You therefore shall do according to your wisdom; You will not let their gray hairs go down to Sheol in peace. 7 But you will show mercy to the children of Barzillai the Gileadite, that they may be among those invited to your table; for they came to me in this way, when I was fleeing from Absalom your brother. 8 You also have with you Shimei son of Gera, son of Benjamin, of Bahurim, who cursed me with a strong curse on the day I went to Mahanaim. But he himself came down to meet me at the Jordan, and I swore to him by the Lord, saying, I will not kill you with the sword. 9 But now you will not absolve him; for you are a wise man, and you know what you should do with him; and you will bring down his gray hair with blood to Sheol.

1 Kings 2:1-9

Suppose that the dream that every person had at one point in their life comes true, the wisest person on the planet has left us an instruction manual for life, that is: a life manual and what would we find? written there? Surely many words of encouragement, especially words that motivate us for those moments when we don't know how to move forward. The interesting thing is that surely as we read more, put it into practice and obtain results, more and more we stick to that manual and everything is fine.

This picture is similar to what King David did with his son and for his son just before he died, David simply encouraged his son to obey God by giving him specific instructions on how to behave in some aspects and All this advice put into practice by Solomon had its results, the Kingdom of Solomon has been an unprecedented kingdom. Although Solomon was NOT blameless, what stood out was his love for the Lord and his humility to ask God for help and follow his advice and thus guide his people.

3 But Solomon loved the Lord, walking in the statutes of his father David; He only sacrificed and burned incense in high places.
9 Therefore give your servant an understanding heart to judge your people, and to discern between good and evil; Because who can govern this great town of yours?

1 Kings 3:3, 9

We today have a much greater privilege than Solomon, today we can make use of God's advice and learn from the experience of other people, both their successes and their failures. Above all, we can use the word of God as an infallible guide and God guides us through it.

When we find ourselves in difficult situations or moments when we are not sure what decision to make, God clarifies the path to follow. We have the wisdom and guidance of his word and the experience of others, but we come out strongly strengthened by this word of life in us by spending time in his presence seeking his guidance, his will.

¿Estamos deseosos de conocer mas del Señor y compartir todo lo que hemos aprendido de él?

Llegaron los días en que David había de morir, y ordenó a Salomón su hijo, diciendo: 2 Yo sigo el camino de todos en la tierra; esfuérzate, y sé hombre. 3 Guarda los preceptos de Jehová tu Dios, andando en sus caminos, y observando sus estatutos y mandamientos, sus decretos y sus testimonios, de la manera que está escrito en la ley de Moisés, para que prosperes en todo lo que hagas y en todo aquello que emprendas; 4 para que confirme Jehová la palabra que me habló, diciendo: Si tus hijos guardaren mi camino, andando delante de mí con verdad, de todo su corazón y de toda su alma, jamás, dice, faltará a ti varón en el trono de Israel.
5 Ya sabes tú lo que me ha hecho Joab hijo de Sarvia, lo que hizo a dos generales del ejército de Israel, a Abner hijo de Ner y a Amasa hijo de Jeter, a los cuales él mató, derramando en tiempo de paz la sangre de guerra, y poniendo sangre de guerra en el talabarte que tenía sobre sus lomos, y en los zapatos que tenía en sus pies. 6 Tú, pues, harás conforme a tu sabiduría; no dejarás descender sus canas al Seol en paz. 7 Mas a los hijos de Barzilai galaadita harás misericordia, que sean de los convidados a tu mesa; porque ellos vinieron de esta manera a mí, cuando iba huyendo de Absalón tu hermano. 8 También tienes contigo a Simei hijo de Gera, hijo de Benjamín, de Bahurim, el cual me maldijo con una maldición fuerte el día que yo iba a Mahanaim. Mas él mismo descendió a recibirme al Jordán, y yo le juré por Jehová diciendo: Yo no te mataré a espada. 9 Pero ahora no lo absolverás; pues hombre sabio eres, y sabes cómo debes hacer con él; y harás descender sus canas con sangre al Seol.

1 Reyes 2:1-9

Supongamos que se cumple el sueño que toda persona tuvo en un momento de su vida, la persona mas sabia del planeta nos ha dejado un manual de instrucciones para la vida, es decir: un manual de vida y ¿Que encontraríamos allí escrito?, seguramente muchas palabras de aliento, sobretodo palabras que nos motiven para esos momentos en los que no sabemos como seguir adelante. Lo interesante es que seguramente que a medida que leemos mas, ponemos en práctica y obtenemos resultados, mas y mas nos aferramos a ese manual y todo va bien.

Este cuadro es semejante a lo que el rey David hizo con su hijo y por su hijo justo antes de morir, David simplemente le animó a su hijo a que obedeciera a Dios dándole instrucciones específicas de como conducirse en algunos aspectos y todo este consejo llevado a la práctica por Salomón tuvo sus resultados, el Reino de Salomón ha sido un reino sin precedentes. Si bien Salomón NO era intachable lo destacaba su amor al Señor y su humildad para pedir ayuda a Dios y seguir su consejo y así guiar a su pueblo.

3 Mas Salomón amó a Jehová, andando en los estatutos de su padre David; solamente sacrificaba y quemaba incienso en los lugares altos.
9 Da, pues, a tu siervo corazón entendido para juzgar a tu pueblo, y para discernir entre lo bueno y lo malo; porque ¿quién podrá gobernar este tu pueblo tan grande?

Nosotros hoy tenemos un privilegio mucho mayor que Salomón, hoy podemos hacer uso del consejo de Dios y aprender de la experiencia de otras personas, tanto de sus aciertos y de sus fracasos. Sobretodo podemos hacer uso de la palabra de Dios como guía infalible y Dios nos guía a través de ella.

Cuando nos encontramos en situaciones difíciles o momentos en que no tenemos la certeza de que decisión tomar Dios nos aclara el camino a seguir. Tenemos la sabiduría y guía de su palabra y la experiencia de otros, pero salimos fuertemente fortalecidos por esta palabra de vida en nosotros por pasar tiempo en su presencia buscando su guía, su voluntad.
