In this gospel , we were meant to understand that we can understand drug addiction from both science and scripture perspective. The human body was created in such a way that it has the ability to adapt to its environment even to harmful substance like drugs.
So if we constantly expose ourselves to harmful substance , our body can easily get addicted to those things and it can harm us.
At the initial time , our body will try to reject the substances, we might feel it by coughing when taking a cigarette or maybe falling sick after drinking. But if we constantly make use of those substance , it is at this point that addiction forms. This is as a result of the choices we make and it is now beyond our control.
What then should the victims do , well ,they were encouraged to ask and seek for the wisdom of God , be strong in faith. Because with faith , knowledge , and strong determination, we can break free from addiction.
