Good day to you my dear reader and a happy new week. I trust you are faring well. Todays blog will be upon the insight I have gained from the topic -Are we financially respnsible to other people brought to us by bro. Eli Soriano.
According to the bible (Matthew 5: 42), Jesus instructed believers to give to those in need. You see, when we pray and ask God for something, God doesn't really come down from the heavens to supply our need rather he uses humans to supply our need. So it is important to give to ur needy neighbour because you are being an extension of Gods hand.
Luke 6 : 35 advices believers to give even to their needy enemies and also pointed out to never expect a favour or something in return when giving hence you should give from your heart. Exodus 22 : 25 speak against using your financial power to leverage over others in the event of maybe lending someone money. We should not be greedy in our financial dealings with people. For instance, don't lend 10 shillings to your needy neighbour and expect 50 shillings. The bible tells us to be considerate and remove greed when offering help.
1st John 3 verse 17 tells us to not shut out the plea of our neighbours when they are in need. It challenges believers to be more of action people than words people. The verse goes on to say that if you see a neighbour in need and shut your heart towards such person, then your faith and believe in God is questionable.
"But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?"
In all things we do, it is necessary and an obligation to observe around you those that are struggling and if you have enough to help then you should help without hesitation and expectations.
Remain blessed!
If there's one thing we learn from God's word is that we shouldn't think only about ourselves. There's no harm in helping people out in any way that we can.
