Lesson learned from today teaching.
Bro Eli taught us that if our brother commit a sin we should gather and pray for him and not spread his name for the sin he has committed and if we sin against each other we should also pray for each other. Bro Eli made us understand from the scriptures that when we want to make a confession it should be first to God and then the person we sin against after we have admit it and not to the priest. It is not written to confess to the priest in the bible and since it is not written it is wrong because the bible is our standard.
We were also made to understand that God only answer the prayer of the righteous and no need for repetitive prayer because even before we pray God has know what we want to pray for just like Daniel in the bible before he even start praying God already send angel Gabriel to him which means God knows our heart even before we come to him in prayer.
God will listen to our prayer when we obey his commandments and God does not dwell in temple build by man but in man that serve him genuinely. The church is a house of prayer so what should be done in the church is prayer and there is need to be orderliness in the house of God.
Although we were taught that it is not a commandments but it good to face the east when praying because that is when the glory of God came from and also to maintain order in the house of God.
The God we serve is a loving and understanding God, he is bigger than our problems so when we need anything or are been face by a problem we should pray to him because he said in the bible that with prayer and supplication we should made our request known to him.
Bro Eli also emphasize on the need to be contented with what we have and we should always try to be in peace with ourselves and others at all times.
