Knowing The Future (The Old Path)

Bible references: John 14:29, Ecclesiastes 9:5, Hebrews 9:27, Ephesians 2:10

As a Christian, it is expected of you to have knowledge of the future. When you study the Bible, you'll come to find out that the Bible is more than just a book containing doctrines; it is also a book of prophecies. In the Book of John, chapter 14, verse 29, a prophetic pronouncement was made by Jesus so that when the appointed time arrives, they would believe.

As Christians, we are opportune to have knowledge of happenings of the future. We don't live our lives accepting whatever comes our way. The mindset of "whatever would be, would be" should not be the mindset of Christians. As Christians, we have the ability, through God's help, to shape our future; our future should have an expected end and not a probability.

In the Book of Proverbs, chapter 16, verse 9, we are told that it is the heart of a man that constructs his way, while it is the Lord that directs his way. The Lord will help in directing a man's way. However, it is up to a man how his tomorrow is going to look like.

Therefore, we do not just fold our hands and expect whatever life has to offer. A Christian should be certain of his future. One of the things he must know is that he must die certainly; the book of Ecclesiastes, chapter 9, verse 5, tells us this.

The dead are not priveleged of this knowledge, but we who are living have knowledge of it. The only exception are people that would be lucky enough to be alive to see the coming of the Lord. Aside from that, everyone must surely die. It is an undeniable fact. We are to live our lives with such consciousness.

Having such consciousness, when that time comes, what we should expect is judgment, as recorded in the Book of Hebrews, chapter 9, verse 27. These two events are inevitable according to the word of God. These are not speculations; they are things that must surely manifest.

Through this video, Brother Eli lets us know that as Christians and as servants of God, we should know our distinct future. In the Book of Ephesians, chapter 2, verse 10, it tells us that there are good works that God has ordained unto men. If we are obedient and carry out these good works, we should know what our future holds for us.

Having this knowledge, we should be certain of our future; we should be certain that we are doing God's work while we are living on earth. Having this certainty, we can paint what tomorrow looks like. Remain blessed!
