Scriptures: Acts 20:28, 1 Timothy 3:15, Proverbs 22:1, Ephesians 3:6, Collossians 1:18, Acts 10:35, Romans 12:9
The greatest legacy that Christ left behind is the church. The church is the convergence of God's people. The church existed right from the days of Jesus' disciples. Christ laid the foundation of the church which began with the early Christians.
1 Timothy 3.15 - But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
The is no greater place we can seek the truth apart from the church. The church is what provides us with facts regarding to every facet of life. We need to hold unto the church as tight as possible. As a member of the church, it is expected that we walk in righteousness, we see this in Acts 10:35.
In the above scripture also, Paul is talking to the church, admonishing them to be well behaved in the church of God even in his absence. One of the core values of the church is righteousness. The church is the medium God uses to express Himself to the world. Therefore, it is important that we observe holiness.
The church, just like the temple is the dwelling place of God, our purpose for coming is to approach our Lord and King and so should be done reverently.
We must be a church committed to the community and the commission.
In the church, prejudice and favouritism are not to be practiced as they negate everything that God holds value for.
