It’s another social media challenge, and I would have loved to say I’ve been crushing it on splinterlands this season, but the reverse has actually been the case. I’ve been having my ass whooped back to back and right now I find myself battling relegation in the gold league. Losing doesn’t really hurt me but this time it just feels different. It’s as though almost all my opponents have a counter attack for all my strategies and I no longer have a fail safe to keep me from losing. As of the time of writing this post, I’m on the hunt for new strategies. I think I have probably not understood all the rulesets, especially the ruleset that gives slower monsters the advantage. I end up winning by luck whenever I am to play with that ruleset.
On a normal day I will talk about my wins, But I think today isn’t a normal day or even season for me so I will talk about my losses instead. Not that I am complaining about losing but just letting everyone know that it’s a game, sometimes you win, and sometimes you lose. As of today I have played a total of 1,831 battles in the Modern league, and won 908 out of them leaving me with 923 loses + draws. This means I have a total win rate of 49.6% which for me is poor. In the wild league I’ve played 403 battles, winning 234 out of them which also means I’ve either lost or drawn 169 of the battles I have played giving me a 58% win rate.
MY CARDS
MY OPPONENTS CARDS
Well I was not expecting it to get easier, and looking at how far I have come to understand the game I must admit it’s pretty competitive, everyone wants to win and for me to win, everyone I play with has to lose and vice versa. For example, one of the games I played in the modern league taught me something very significant about how I position my monsters according to the ruleset. The ruleset of the game gave thorns to all monsters, I obviously understand that I would be safe to use monsters with magic abilities. However, what I did not anticipate was that my opponent would understand it even better.
By putting a self healing card that could take a lot of attacks in the first position, my magic attacking strategy automatically became useless. For each of my attacks the monster in the first position would just heal itself and note it had Merdaali Gauidian as an extra healing asset. All monsters also again reach according to the ruleset, I was very surprised to see my opponent using Tide Biter in second position when there are thorns. I forgot that all monsters also had blast abilities which was my biggest mistake in the game. Even though Tide Biter has reach, it also has the reflection shield ability which did not allow any of my blast to the monster in first position affect the monster in second position which was basically why I lost. It’s still interesting all the same, and if you wish to start playing yourself, just click here.
