If Your Mind Is In Chaos, Take A Nature Trip to TCH Balamban, Cebu

I always believe that the more you travel to new places, the more you realize there is much more to be happy and grateful for. Now, I have an add-on to that. I realized that the more you indulge in nature and travel, the more you appreciate how big the world is and how nature can calm your mind.

Hey, Hivers! Welcome to another spontaneous adventure with me in Balamban, Cebu.

If you want to travel by motorcycle and would like to be slapped by the fresh air while traveling, going to TCH Balamban, Cebu, is the best option for you. I've been there twice, and it was always good, like the first time.

As a couple, one of our hobbies has been to try new places. No matter how long or challenging the road is, we are always on the go for any adventure. Actually, it wasn’t all about me when I went on different adventures; it was my boyfriend’s idea to try and indulge in new places. As a girlie pop who wants to be outside, see new things and places, and taste new food, I always say yes to everything.

When he said we were going somewhere again, I immediately nodded, put on my jacket, and readied for another long ride adventure. We went to Balamban, Cebu. Actually, we had no exact destination; we just wanted to be on the road and get mesmerized by the views we passed by. We tried a shortcut road via the mountain barangays. Just relying on Google maps, we passed by the different barangays of Compostela, Liloan, and Cebu City. The roads are quite challenging, and there are places where there are no visible houses. We were in awe of the scenery's greenness during the whole ride, especially when we passed by this enchanting location right across the famous Mt. Kang-irag of Cebu City.

See that? Amazing, right? It’s like looking at a real-life painting. We basically stopped and took an inhale-exhale and appreciated the mesmerizing presence of this one-of-a-kind view. I cannot have this view every day. Hence, I am making myself out of it.

It was a long ride going to Balamban, Cebu. Seriously, your butt gets numb. Lol! Nevertheless, it’s the best decision we had that we decided to take the mountainous route rather than the national highway.

After the mountainous route, we finally took the transcentral highway to Balamban, Cebu. The road was busy with different riders. Like us, they are also on an adventure. However, this type of adventure has a disadvantage. Some of the reckless drivers make you anxious. They thought that the highway was a racetrack. I can still remember how I ranted about those drivers who overtake like they have nine lives like a cat. Even on a downhill road, they’re daredevils who have no fear going at high speed. Like, seriously?

Nonetheless, I am not against their wants and enjoyment. It is just that some drivers can sometimes compromise other people’s safety. Every corner of the road had numerous signs about how dangerous it is to drive at high speed, as the area is on the top of the mountain. One mistake could land you at the bottom of the mountain. I am a die-hard believer that everyone is responsible for their own safety. However, I also understand that some travelers feel the adrenaline of the momentum of their adventure because, indeed, the whole journey is like heaven, especially when fog descends upon the land.

The whole trip was so good! Even though I had some anxious moments, they went away when I started to witness and experience the cool weather, the breathtaking views, and the adrenaline that nature brings—so good!

There is no need to worry if you get hungry, sleepy, or want to chill because many establishments offer sumptuous food, good coffee, and nice drinks. To name one, it is the famous destination of the riders—the Balwarte ni Alfredo.

We stopped by Balwarte ni Alfredo. They are just along the road, and many travelers often stopped at this place. They offer good foods such as Beef pares and Topsilog. They also provide instant coffee and instant noodles if you want to have a snack. Since there was no internet connection in the whole place, they also have a WiFi vendo machine where visitors can pay a minimum of five pesos. If you want to chill, they also offer shakes, juices, and alcoholic drinks. If you want your face to be remembered, you can leave a photo of yourself as a testament that you were once in Balwarte ni Alfredo.

Most of all, the highlight of the place is the view of the road, where you can witness riders making a fuzz of their built-up motorcycles. Going up and down, with their loud pipe. It was annoying if you were not into motorcycles, but as the moment goes by, you’ll appreciate their dedication and effort in going up and down the road hill. HAHA!

Actually, you can stop anywhere to take a picture if you want to sit by the road and enjoy a panoramic view of the mountains of Balamban. Truthfully, the municipality of Balamban has much more to offer, from nature and its cold climate to the amusing zigzag roads and the number of destinations you could stop by.

By its breathtaking views, I realized that if you want to let off steam, an adventure to TCH Balamban is a great way to ease the chaos inside your mind. The green scenery, the panoramic mountainous view, the number of establishments that offer a good experience, the fog that descends upon the land, the adrenaline, the smile, and the happiness you feel are truly one of a kind. I would probably go there repeatedly if I did not have a busy schedule. The whole place, the whole route, and the whole adventure are indeed rewarding and mesmerizing to the mind and soul.
