Galipán is a small town, pueblito would say any Venezuelan like me, because we love diminutives, is located on the slopes of the Avila National Park, the most important mountain in Caracas. Specifically in the state of La Guaira, Venezuela. Its attractions: flowers, climate, architecture, horseback riding and gastronomy.
To go to Galipán you have to go through Caracas
In your own vehicle or private vehicle the route is the same, you have to go through the capital of Venezuela, you can go up in a rustic car or by the cable car that covers the route Caracas - Hotel Humbolt, the latter is located at the top of the Avila. Galipán is at 1,850 meters above sea level, more experienced travelers with more time also dare to walk up, it must be a great experience, because the walk is through a protected reserve for its richness in flora, fauna and fresh water.
I recommend that the driver be skilled at the wheel and not be afraid of the curves and narrow streets, if you are the copilot and you feel nauseated by the steep slopes, take precautions.
The tour is beautiful, on the road there is a viewpoint from where you can see the beautiful Caracas, it is safe, usually there are families taking pictures and enjoying a snack.

I fell in love with Galipán
For old souls like mine who love peace, fresh breeze, long silences and flowers, this place is a paradise, I spent the day enjoying the scenery, walking, and browsing in the souvenir stores, the weather was about 19 degrees Celsius. If you like to read you can bring a book, the place lends itself.
The town has about four mostly stone streets, in all, stores selling fruit, flowers and preserves especially strawberry and peach, both grown locally, strawberry with whipped cream is also very common. I had lunch at La Terracita de Ana, it is very cozy, serves delicious milkshakes, salads of vegetables grown in the village and for protein I recommend the roast pork.
I went down to Caracas by cable car, it was a little after 5:00 pm, I do not recommend going down at that time I did at least 2 hours in line to get into a cabin, each cabin has capacity for 6 people. The wait was vindicated with the wonderful sunset and the sunset seen from the heights.
