Travel Blog Post 07: From Hangzhou To Shanghai By 1 Hour High Speed Train

in TravelFeed4 days ago

Hello there. Here is post seven in my travel blog series. In this post I cover going from Hangzhou, China to Shanghai.

Heading To Hangzhou East Railway Station

For our travel group we had the same private taxi van driver drive us to Hangzhou East Railway Station. Our train was scheduled to depart in the afternoon.

At the time I did not take pictures of the Hangzhou train station inside unfortunately. It was not as big as the one in Guangzhou South Railway Station.

Short High Speed Train Trip From Hangzhou to Shanghai

Hangzhou is pretty close to Shanghai by high speed train. The trip was from 3:24 PM to 4:28 PM in China time. At the time the second class G-Class train seat ticket cost was 73 CNY or 14.28 CAD. This was pretty affordable. Ordering tickets was convienient through Trip.com.

Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station

Our travel groups did have different seats and were not together. My train ticket was beside a stranger. For one hour a train ride by the window seat with other people was not too bad. If the train ticket was longer I would have ordered tickets more than 24 hours in advance.

It did take a while to exit the train platform as there is a big lineup for the downwards escalator. When you enter Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station you feel as if you are in an airport. The facility is quite modern. What stands out are these bright billboard ads. Pictures and one video short from my Samsung A50 phone.

After seeing those bright ads I was already impressed by Shanghai.

Thank you for reading.
