Freezing over the Sukhona river in 2022

I visit my homeland in Veliky Ustyug many times a year, but most often these are moments at work. But even on business trips, I sometimes manage to capture something.

One of the brightest and most memorable places from my childhood is a pine grove on the steep bank of the river near the bridge.

It was with a hiking trip with a friend to these places that my interest in photography began.

I have visited the places where my life's work originated many times.

These are the brightest memories of my life.

Then I have already been to this grove many times and took pictures of the views that open from it.

Even then, on film, I made views of the opposite side of the river in frost, captured the recently frozen river and snow-covered views of the grove.

And if you look at those pictures from twenty years ago, you can feel the same atmosphere that I experienced now.

The past is strangely perceived by the number of pictures.

Previously, I could spend a film of 36 frames for the entire walk, or even not all of it.

And now it's a ten-minute walk through only one location. But the point is not in the possibilities of memory, but in the perception of a variety of scenes.

This bridge photos are extremely beautiful. The landscape is nice as well. Wish I’m capable to take a tourist visit down there
