Automated People Mover - The Gold Line in Bangkok

in TravelFeed3 months ago

The Gold Line automated people mover in Bangkok is the latest addition to our list of interesting transportation options we used. On this day, we had planned to visit the Iconsiam shopping mall, and I remembered that the Gold Line connects to it.

So we took a spontaneous ride on the automated people mover. The ride costs 15 baht, is currently 1.8 km long (although they're planning to extend it by another kilometer) and serves 3 stations.

As with all new forms of transportation, it was an exciting ride, we loved riding on the elevated terraces, but to be honest, the trains could go a little faster. That's why I sped up the video a bit :)

yeah that thing is moving very slow. that would be frustrating but I presume it had powerful air conditioning. I first traveled to Bangkok before there were any mass transit trains at all. Those were different and very frustrating times for that city!
