We almost never splurge, but for our 20th anniversary we did and booked three nights on a private resort island: Pangkor Laut, a few hours north of Kuala Lumpur.
The check-in process was so smooth. On the mainland, the Pangkor Laut resort had its own terminal where you dropped off your luggage and waited for your boat shuttle to the island.
After a short wait, we were on our boat, getting closer and closer to our little paradise island. Then we saw the sea villas and one of them would be our home for the next 3 nights.
