And I promised you that I would soon make a post dedicated to my visit to this city, so here I am. After the boat ride, my friend and I headed towards the entrance to Sirmione, passing through the drawbridge that leads to the castle. In fact, our first stop here was the Scaligero Castle, one of the most beautiful castles on the coast. water from all over Italy, we paid the entry ticket, six euros and as soon as we entered we found ourselves in a sort of atrium with various staircases that led to the external part of the castle characterized by a walkway along the entire castle and overlooking the lake.

Obviously we took the walk after having read some information about the castle and its origins, that is, as the name suggests, the castle dates back to the Scaliger era and has a magnificent dock inside where the fleets were located, it is one of the best preserved lake fortresses in Italy and for some years it was one of the most visited castles, it has an imposing keep and even its doors are a true marvel, furthermore in the past it was only accessed via drawbridges but today it is also possible to access it from the village.

Another beautiful but tiring part of the visit to the castle was the climb up the tower of the patrol walkways, with a flight of 150 steps, we arrived at the top sweaty and tired and we realized how out of practice we are!

Y os prometí que pronto haría un post dedicado a mi visita a esta ciudad, así que aquí estoy. Después del paseo en barco, mi amiga y yo nos dirigimos hacia la entrada de Sirmione, pasando por el puente levadizo que conduce al castillo. De hecho, nuestra primera parada aquí fue el Castillo Scaligero, uno de los castillos más bonitos de la costa. agua de toda Italia, pagamos la entrada, seis euros y nada más entrar nos encontramos en una especie de atrio con varias escaleras que conducían a la parte exterior del castillo caracterizada por un pasillo que recorre todo el castillo y con vistas sobre el lago.

Obviamente tomamos el paseo después de haber leído algo de información sobre el castillo y sus orígenes, es decir, como su nombre indica, el castillo data de la época de Scaliger y tiene en su interior un magnífico muelle donde se ubicaban las flotas, es uno de los fortaleza lacustre mejor conservada de Italia y durante algunos años fue uno de los castillos más visitados, tiene una imponente torre del homenaje e incluso sus puertas son una auténtica maravilla, además antiguamente sólo se accedía a través de puentes levadizos pero hoy en día también es posible acceder desde el pueblo. Otra parte hermosa pero agotadora de la visita al castillo fue la subida a la torre de las pasarelas de patrulla, con un tramo de 150 escalones, llegamos a la cima sudorosos y cansados y nos dimos cuenta de lo falta de práctica que estábamos.

To visit the entire castle it takes about a couple of hours, especially if destiny comes to us and you stop to look and photograph the view. The walkway is truly beautiful and the crenellated towers make you feel like you're in an episode of Games of Thrones, a leap into the Middle Ages! After the castle we instead went to a small free beach right behind the castle, surrounded by some really pretty houses, there were a lot of people on the free beach but at least we were able to relax and put our feet in the water for a bit as they were tired after all the stairs. It was also nice to see the lake with all the ducks.

After we refreshed our feet we continued through the town, taking a walk through the streets, Sirmione is really pretty and the streets are also very beautiful and colorful and also something that struck me with so many flowers, almost every house has some flowers or climbing plants, also being a tourist place there are many souvenir and craft shops. It was a really pleasant walk even if the heat tormented us as it was the middle of August.

Para visitar todo el castillo se necesitan un par de horas, sobre todo si el destino nos llega y te paras a mirar y fotografiar la vista.

El paseo es realmente bonito y las torres almenadas te hacen sentir como si estuvieras en un episodio de Juego de Tronos, ¡un salto a la Edad Media! Después del castillo fuimos a una pequeña playa libre justo detrás del castillo, rodeada de algunas casas realmente bonitas, había mucha gente en la playa libre pero al menos pudimos relajarnos y poner los pies en el agua por un rato. Un poco porque estaban cansados después de tantas escaleras.

También fue agradable ver el lago con todos los patos. Después de refrescar nuestros pies continuamos por el pueblo, dando un paseo por las calles, Sirmione es realmente bonita y las calles también son muy hermosas y coloridas y también algo que me llamó la atención con tantas flores, casi todas las casas tienen algunas flores o trepadoras. plantas, además al ser un lugar turístico existen muchas tiendas de souvenirs y artesanías. Fue un paseo realmente agradable a pesar de que el calor nos atormentaba porque estábamos en pleno agosto.

After our walk through the streets of the town we were very hungry so we stopped in a bar, the place is called Ai Cigni and the first thing that struck us were the enormous ice creams but also the sandwiches, furthermore the ice cream counter was immense and in fact my friend's son strongly insisted on having lunch here.

The menu had various dishes such as pizzas, hot dogs, hamburgers and sandwiches, the prices were a little high but this is not a strange thing in a tourist location, I had a really good and light wholemeal caprese sandwich, my friend and her son a classic margherita and a hot dog, then we adults had two cold beers while the child obviously wanted to try the immense ice creams, he took one with three flavors and it was really huge so much so that my friend and I had to finish it! However, the bar was really nice and we also liked Sirmione a lot, after lunch we had to leave for home unfortunately, I would have stayed there for more days and time and I hope to return for a longer holiday!

Después de nuestro paseo por las calles del pueblo teníamos mucha hambre así que paramos en un bar, el lugar se llama Ai Cigni y lo primero que nos llamó la atención fueron los helados enormes pero también los bocadillos, además la barra de helados era inmensa. y de hecho el hijo de mi amigo insistió fuertemente en almorzar aquí.

El menú tenía varios platos como pizzas, hot dogs, hamburguesas y sándwiches, los precios eran un poco altos pero esto no es algo extraño en un lugar turístico, comí un sándwich caprese integral muy bueno y ligero, mi amiga y su hijo. una clásica margarita y un hot dog, luego los adultos tomamos dos cervezas frías mientras el niño obviamente quería probar los inmensos helados, tomó uno de tres sabores y era realmente enorme, tanto que mi amigo y yo tuvimos que terminarlo. ! Sin embargo, el bar era muy agradable y también nos gustó mucho Sirmione, después del almuerzo tuvimos que irnos a casa desafortunadamente, me hubiera quedado allí por más días y tiempo y espero volver para unas vacaciones más largas.
