Allowing safari in your own vehicle is awesome, does that need any additional permissions? Cause we do here in india and u have to spend more On it.

As a kid you know only antelope, not which one :)
Etosha is open for self drive. You just buy a ticket to enter, but it is not more expensive. There are strict rules to stay on road and not to leave you vehicle, but that is all reasonable and for your safety.
More animals are following soon in part two of Etosha NP.
I am sure you won't miss it :)
