My first time at a Cebu bar was something I’ll never forget!
Honestly, going to a bar wasn’t even part of the plan. Me and my cousins were supposed to grab coffee, but somehow, it turned into the complete opposite! I guess planning isn’t really our thing because this wasn’t the first time it happened. Before this, we were supposed to go to a coffee shop but ended up at a pub in Papakits Lilo-an, and later, we found ourselves wandering around IT Park until 3 a.m.
Since my cousin has a car and has learnt how to drive around Cebu, anytime we have free time, we always take her car to wander around IT Park.
IT Park is the Bonifacio Global Park (BGC) in Cebu. Just like BGC IT Park is also known for its vibrant nightlife. There's a lot of 24-hour establishment, so you can still stroll and have some fun even until 3 AM, and it is a pretty safe place too, especially from my experience.
Our first stop!
Our first stop is Agwa, a well-known club in the IT Park. We saved a lot of money because it was Saturday when we visited, and girls like me were free to enter. The booming music was already playing when I walked in, and the crowd was very excited. The place was packed with teenagers, with only a few grownups enjoying themselves. We purchased enough beers to drink before heading to the dance floor. When we arrived at the dance floor, there was no one dancing, possibly because it was early, but my cousins and I began dancing, thinking we needed to have fun right away because we wouldn't be there for long.
Many others stared at us oddly, either because of our clothing or because we were the only ones dancing at first. To clarify, because we assumed we were going to have coffee, we wore jackets and plain shorts, as well as slippers and crocs; happily, the bouncer let us in, especially my brother and male cousin, because males must wear shoes to enter.
We looked so different from everyone else—others were in fancy, sexy, and eye-catching outfits, while we just wore what felt comfy and homely. But that didn’t stop us from enjoying the club’s vibe. We danced our hearts out until it was time to head to another spot.
Our next stop!
Our next stop was Sugbo Wings, of course! By this time, all the dancing had drained every ounce of energy we had, and our stomachs were practically screaming for food. I couldn’t resist giving in to one of my ultimate cravings, so we ordered a full serving of Yangnyeom and Kalmado. And let me tell you, we didn’t just stop there—we also got rice because, honestly, we were starving like we hadn’t eaten in days and the chicken smelt so good and it looked so juicy. Can you imagine? It was already 2 AM, and we were still on the hunt for good food.
As soon as our takeout orders were ready, we didn’t waste a second. But instead of diving straight into the food, we decided to go on another little adventure—this time for coffee! Yep, because what’s better than pairing your midnight feast with a nice, cold drink to keep the vibes going? It was such a random but super fun pit stop that added even more excitement to our already crazy night!
Our third and last stop!
To satisfy our cravings, we made a quick stop at a coffee shop—we couldn’t head back home without grabbing some coffee, especially since we drove all the way to Cebu for it! Luckily, Coffee Bean was still open. The moment I stepped inside, my mouth started watering just from the sight of their desserts and drinks. But since we already bought chicken earlier, I decided to stick with just a drink.
I ordered their vanilla coffee blend, and let me tell you—it was absolutely worth every peso! The flavor was so good, it felt like a little treat to myself after a long day. The shop itself had this bright and minimal vibe that made me want to stay for a bit and soak in the chill atmosphere. But, of course, my cousins were already waiting outside, so I had to head out after enjoying my coffee.
After we got our orders, we joined my cousins outside the Coffee Bean, where there were tables and chairs. My cousin said it was fine to eat there, and she was right—nobody stopped us. We happily dug into the chicken from Sugbo Wings while sipping on the coffee blend from Coffee Bean.
That night was absolutely wild and unforgettable! We laughed until our sides hurt, swapped stories, and made memories I’ll hold close to my heart. I really hope we get to have more nights like this in 2025. Spending time with family is truly special—it’s about creating bonds that are stronger and more meaningful than anything else. Moments like this remind me to treasure the people who matter most. From me to you, cherish your loved ones—it’s what life is all about.
