Be Aware! You Will Not Get What You Paid For! Holiday Review

in TravelFeed6 days ago (edited)

If I could give Alojamiento Rural Caserío de la Fuente in Deifontes, near Granada, Spain a zero-star rating, I absolutely would.

My wife and I, along with our two dogs, found ourselves in an unfortunate situation when our motorhome broke down and required repairs. Given the circumstances, we decided to book what was advertised as an 80 m² Family Bungalow at this accommodation, believing it would be a comfortable and spacious place to stay for five days while we sorted everything out. Unfortunately, what we got was nothing short of a scam, with a complete misrepresentation of the property, blatant dishonesty, and an overall appalling experience.

False Advertising & Misleading Information

The main reason we chose to book this accommodation was based on the description provided on Booking.com. The listing promised an 80 m² Family Bungalow equipped with multiple facilities, including a well-fitted kitchen with a refrigerator, dishwasher, kitchenware, and a microwave. It also boasted a washing machine, air conditioning, a flat-screen TV with streaming services, executive lounge access, and garden views. It even mentioned a barbecue, which we thought would be a great addition.

What we actually received was a small, cramped 35 m² unit with only a basic kitchenette, a TV, and two tiny bedrooms. The difference between what was advertised and what was actually provided was shocking. This was not a simple oversight or minor exaggeration—it was a blatant and deliberate lie. The facilities we were promised were non-existent. No dishwasher, no washing machine, no executive lounge access, and definitely no 80 m² of space. It was a complete scam, and we felt utterly deceived.

Broken and Unsafe Facilities

Adding to our frustration, the accommodation was not just misleading but also in disrepair. A broken electrical plug was hanging from the wall, posing a safety hazard. This was not a small issue—it was a clear sign of poor maintenance and disregard for guest safety. When you pay for an accommodation, you expect it to be functional and safe. This place was neither.

Uncontrolled Dogs & Hostile Environment

We chose this location partially because it was advertised as dog-friendly. However, what we didn’t expect was that the owners and staff would allow their own dogs to run wild across the property. This made it extremely difficult for us to walk our own dogs, as we were constantly worried about them being harassed or attacked. The lack of control over their animals made us feel unwelcome and on edge throughout our stay.

Fraudulent Business Practices

Perhaps the most infuriating part of our experience was the sheer dishonesty of the management. When my wife complained to Booking.com about the misleading advertisement and poor conditions, the resort took the outrageous step of canceling our booking, falsely claiming that we had never even arrived! This underhanded tactic not only prevented us from leaving an official review on Booking.com but also explained how they seemed to maintain a falsely positive rating.

I strongly suspect that many of the glowing reviews for this place are either fake or manipulated. If you take a closer look, you'll notice how generic and vague many of them are—likely created to counteract any real negative feedback. This dishonest behavior is unacceptable and a clear indication of their unethical business practices.

So Bad We Left Early

Our original plan was to stay for at least five days, possibly longer if our motorhome repairs took more time. However, the experience was so miserable that we couldn't bear to stay even a minute longer than necessary. Instead of extending our stay, we called a taxi and traveled 50 km to a hotel just to escape the nightmare that was this so-called "rural accommodation." The fact that we were willing to spend extra money and travel such a long distance just to get out of there should tell you everything you need to know about this place.

The Only Positive? Netflix and Friendly Staff

In fairness, I will mention the only two redeeming aspects of our stay. First, the TV in the bungalow allowed access to Netflix, which at least provided some form of distraction from the miserable conditions. Second, the staff members we interacted with were friendly. However, no level of friendliness can make up for the lies, broken facilities, and outright fraud committed by the management of this establishment.

Final Verdict: Avoid at All Costs!

Alojamiento Rural Caserío de la Fuente is an absolute disgrace. They engage in false advertising, provide substandard and unsafe accommodations, allow uncontrolled dogs to roam freely, and actively manipulate their reviews to hide the truth. If you value honesty, safety, and getting what you paid for, do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place.

I have traveled extensively throughout Spain and Europe, and I have never encountered such a blatant scam before. This was by far the worst accommodation experience I have ever had. If you're considering booking here, my advice is simple: DON’T. There are plenty of other honest and well-maintained accommodations in the area—go anywhere else but here.
