Pulo Raya is one of the villages for the outermost island in Aceh, precisely in Sampoiniet, Aceh Jaya Regency, Aceh, which is located in the Indian Ocean and borders the Indian state geographically at coordinates 4°52'25.2"N 95°22'45.9"E.

The island was once inhabited, but due to the earthquake and tsunami in 2004, many residents died and some survivors chose to leave the island.

To reach Pulo Raya island, I was with my family and accompanied by a good friend @safar01 crossed by boat for about 10 minutes.

During the reign of the Dutch East Indies in Aceh, the island was used as a place to collect Aceh's west coast commodities.

I quote several documents relating to Pulo Raya (Poelau Raja) from Digital Collections, Leiden University Libraries.

When we visited there, some relief houses began to be rebuilt, but most of the original inhabitants were reluctant to return for various reasons.

That's quite an adventure.

I love the photos as well, thanks for bringing the community to Pulo Raya.

That lobster is a giant lol. I found it interesting to look at the old photos and compare them with the ones you took. Time passes by and places do change in a lovely way

Incredible! Thanks for sharing.
