With most of the interior secured, I eliminated an outside guard to remove any chance of interruption, then returned to finish the job inside. The situation escalated briefly after a failed silent double-tap, but quick positioning kept control in my hands.
One by one, the remaining Highwaymen fell, until the last guard at the main entrance was removed and the fortress was effectively mine.

With the interior partially cleared, I worried about the guard I had seen outside earlier. I didn't want him wandering in and catching me by surprise. I slipped out and found him. Then I put a hole right in his forehead with my sniper rifle. One less enemy to worry about.

Back inside, I went for the lady and her pal. I knew I couldn't stealth them both simultaneously, so I decided to use speed and lead. I planned the double-tap in my head and executed it. It was almost perfect, but the second one let out a sharp scream before hitting the floor.

The scream worked as two more Highwaymen came running to investigate the noise. I was already in a new position. I shot one down immediately, and the other, realizing he was outmatched, turned and fled the room. I started moving towards him as well.

I looked below and saw a Highwayman literally relaxing on a desk. I performed a lethal leap, taking him out before he could even stand up.

Then I spotted another man who was busy painting graffiti on a wall. I was going to kill him while he worked, but he suddenly started walking toward his bunk.

I followed him, staying out of his peripheral vision, and ended his life just as he reached his bed.

The fortress was almost quiet now. There was one guard left at the main entrance, standing right below the big tower with the torn US flag. I approached from the shadows and took him down with a sense of genuine pleasure. The entrance was mine.
How about we continue in another post?
