After defeating a group of bandits upon landing, Sigurd and Eivor secured a longhouse and rescued two merchant hostages. The clan began constructing their new home, leading to a cinematic moment where Eivor assisted Randvi with the settlement map. Finally, the group officially named their new village Ravensthorpe.

Sigurd tried to play along with the bandit leader to see their true intentions after getting off the longship, but they threatened the Norsemen with a play of swords and expected us to cower. They did not realize who they were dealing with.

Not just me, but every Norseman around us were thirsty for blood, and it had been eight days without a drop of blood to their access during the long voyage. So we started quenching our thirst by engaging the bandits in a fierce melee right on the riverbank.

I noticed the Norsemen were better off without me because of their sheer strength and skill, but I still supported them in taking down those bandits. We worked with a brutal efficiency that left the bandit group scattered and broken in a matter of seconds.

After getting rid of the bandits, Sigurd asked everyone to look around the perimeter as he didn't want any more surprises lurking in the shadows. And there was a large longhouse that Eivor decided to check personally, sensing that scavengers might still be hiding in the remains of the longhouse.

I heard a lady talking from the longhouse, her voice muffled by the thick wooden walls. I moved toward the entrance, but I noticed there was a noise trap at the entrance made of hanging bones and metal scraps.
I had to step carefully to avoid alerting whoever was inside.

After getting inside that longhouse, we found two hostages, and a lady named Yanli talked boldly, thinking we were the ones who had taken them hostage. But Sigurd convinced them they were the good guys and untied them from their bonds.
They decided to help the Norsemen building this place, mentioning they were merchants who had been traveling through the region before being captured.

After the chapter concluded, Eivor and Sigurd went outside to welcome the rest of their clan, who were left behind on the ships until the area was secured. The sight of the families and warriors stepping onto the shore brought a sense of relief to the camp.
They were no longer just a war band; they were a community ready to build something lasting.

The Norsemen started building their home, hammering away at the new foundations while the cinematic part showed Randvi carrying some scrolls to the longship.

When she was checking on a map laid out on a table, she realized there was daylight suddenly showered on her from above. She looked up with a small smile, curious about who was letting the sun into the room.

She looked up and noticed it was no other than Eivor who was working on the roof of the longship, removing old boards to let the light in. It was a rare moment of peace amidst the labor of establishing a new settlement in a foreign land.

Then Eivor and Sigurd met Randvi to discuss the future of the clan's territory. Sigurd mentioned that their place was currently unnamed and they couldn't let that stand if they wanted to be respected.

After Sigurd asked what they would call this place, Eivor stared on the map and said it could be named Ravensthorpe, the village of ravens, and the rest liked it.
That's all for now.

The standoff at the riverbank was classic Sigurd and Eivor. There is no better way to start a new home than with a victorious battle.
Seeing the story in your posts is making me feel I didn't value the game when I tried it. Maybe I'll need to check it out once more.
I get what you're meaning here. You're not alone in this.
Yeah, that was a perfect way to kick things off.
You might end up appreciating the world and characters much more on another playthrough.
So, Ravensthorpe? The name itself sounds like a legend in the making. The Raven Clan doesn't just survive; they conquer and build.
True, giving the settlement a name makes everything feel more permanent and meaningful. Thanks to Sigurd for the proposal and Eivor for the name.
Those bandits really picked the wrong group to try and intimidate. It's satisfying to see the whole clan working together to secure the land.
Those bandits walked in confident and left with regrets, hahaha.
The settlement part seemed quite instructive. Seeing the clan move from warriors to a community gave a strong sense of progress and purpose. Amazing blog bro. keep it up.
Yeah, that part really showed a different side of the journey. I'm glad you liked it.
