A Gift for Eivor.

▶️ Watch on 3Speak

After building the Hidden Ones Bureau, I followed Hytham across the river and up a steep cliff. Despite his chest pains, Hytham led Eivor to a high ledge to teach the legendary Leap of Faith. After watching Hytham dive safely into the hay below, I prepared to follow.

After helping Gunnar with his forge, I decided to build the Hidden Ones Bureau where Hytham works to track the movements of the Order of the Ancients. And I decided to build this to unlock the Order of Ancients menu and those missions that would lead us across England.

After building the bureau, Hytham looked so happy to finally have a base of operations for his work. He said he had something to gift Eivor, mentioning it's actually something Eivor would gift thyself if he knew the power of the technique.

I had to follow Hytham on foot to see what he wanted to give me as a reward for the new building. On the way, Eivor asked him about his wound from the Kjotve, and Hytham mentioned he still had pain in his chest, which he didn't have any remedy for.

I noticed I was following him towards the river without knowing or having any clue what was going to happen next. He walked with a steady pace despite his injury, leading me away from the safety of the main settlement.

Then I realized I actually had to jump on the boat so Hytham could row it to the other side of the river.

When I thought we were going on a big journey by boat to some distant ruins, Hytham jumped off it, just going to the other side. So I had to follow him onto the muddy bank, wondering why we had crossed such a short distance for this supposed gift.

On our way to the top of the cliff, a big bird got spooked seeing us approaching. So I caught it in the frame using the photo mode, capturing the majestic spread of its wings before it disappeared into the high clouds.

While I was following Hytham to the top of the cliff, I realized Hytham was going to teach me the way they do leap of faith. He spoke of controlling one's fear and trusting the air to carry the body down safely to the earth below.

After getting there at the edge of the cliff, Eivor was surprised to realize that Hytham wanted him to jump from there. Even though Hytham tried to convince him on the way, the height looked much more intimidating for Eivor.

Even before Eivor could understand what was happening, Hytham took the jump without a moment of hesitation. He asked him to do it next, his voice trailing off as he descended rapidly toward the small patch of straw in the distance.

We were going for the jump ourselves, but first I used the photo mode to check if Hytham made it alright. I noticed him in a small size below who actually made it well and was already standing up. It was time for Eivor to go for the leap of faith.

That's all for now.

Your storytelling made the Leap of Faith scene feel much more cinematic than usual. The detail about Eivor slowly realizing what Hytham planned created suspense naturally.

Hytham's dedication to his craft is impressive. Even with his wounds, he made sure to pass on the traditions of the Hidden Ones.

Great shot of that bird in photo mode. Last time I saw such shots in blog of @izuki.midoriya. It is funny how Hytham took a boat just to cross that tiny stretch of river when they could just swim to the other side easily, which would save them time as well.

I honestly think this game handles quieter character moments really well, and your screenshots captured that atmosphere perfectly. Hytham's chest pain and determination added emotional weight instead of a simple tutorial mission.
