ChadhaKhai: Eating Non-veg after a whole month

in IndiaUnited Old3 years ago

In our culture, we usually don't eat any non veg for a whole month. That is in the month of November. After one whole month of not eating non-veg, The day has come where we can finally continue to eat non-veg. And so me and my dad headed out to our nearest place where we can buy meat. Today we decided to have chicken instead of mutton, As our mom does not eat any meat except on Monday, So we have planned mutton for this coming Wednesday :).

It is a very big complex of meat, You can find all kinds of meat there ranging from fish, mutton, different types of fish and mutton, To our surprise they also had double yolk eggs. Something I will definitely try out in the near future. While my father went inside to get the chicken meat, He told me to explore the area and take some pictures, and so I did.

First off I found Emu, At first it looked like a ostrich but I soon figured out that if it was a ostrich it would be pretty tough to keep it inside the cage let alone eating it. I also found out instead of eating the bird, only the eggs are eaten.

They didn't have much animals today So I only got to see Emu, chicken (atleast 5 types of it) and rabbits.

Now it was time to prepare the Chicken curry. We washed off the chicken and had already prepared the ingredients.

The full recipe was posted in my fathers profile I believe, If anyone wants it let me know. I'll search for it and provide you with the link.

After around 2-3 hours of continuous effort we had our final product, The chicken curry.

Just looking at it kept me drooling. Me and my father, and later my Uncle enjoyed it with Rice and salad for clearing our pallets whenever we felt that we ate too much of meat. Overall it was a great taste. To top it off I made some mocktail. Using lemon juice, 2 sugar free tablets (As I'm health conscious right now), Blue curacoe syrup, 1 part soda and 2 parts Flavored Lemon Soda.

It was a great day, and leftovers also were pretty good when eating at night.
