I happily arrived at a very beautiful place, a monastery above a cliff near a river, to launch my drone again on the hunt for breathtaking photos. I chose a seemingly safe home point, but as soon as the drone flew 20 meters away, it lost contact. I could not restore it.
I ran in desperation down the hill through the nettles and through the forest to a more open space where the communication is not blocked by trees. After running, I was right under the drone, and the connection was restored again. Later it disappeared again almost immediately. Such ping pong began, with the connection being restored and disappearing. Every time the connection was lost, the return to home was activated. Between these returns, the connection appeared and then disappeared. Due to this endless loop, I couldn't control it. The cancel return home function didn't work. I pressed it, but it didn't work. I'm in tears. I've never had such a panic before. For the first time, I couldn't control anything.
Later, the connection was restored, and on screen unexpectedly was showed some kind of orange surface very very close. It said landing, but again, the button to cancel the landing did not work. I pressed it ten times but in vain. I finally lost contact with the drone. It fully disconnected from the control panel. I ran up the hill to the take-off point, but the drone was nowhere to be found. I determined that it was likely stuck on the roof of that monastery. The roofs of the monastery were quite high, and nothing was visible or accessible. No one could climb there.
I entered the courtyard of the monastery through an alley and heard a strange buzzing sound, before I knew which side it comes from, my drone fell from the roof of one of the walls of the monastery, more than 7 meters high. Oh no. It crashed. The glass of the camera flew away in a clatter, the body was in cracks, and the propellers were cracked. Most importantly, the system does not work. The shock was very strong, and the device does not turn on at all.
How could I allow this? This is my beloved friend Zelya. We conquered various natural attractions together for 2 years. He was so faithful, brave, and desperate. He overcame considerable difficulties in various weather conditions to get unique shots from a bird's eye view. He was such a precious present to me on my birthday from my sister. I do not know how to forgive myself for not being able to take care of him😢
