The best jazz night🤩 (eng-esp)

Hello to all the hivers who are meeting this day to bring memories to #ThrowbackThursday. Today I feel quite inspired, because several festivals are happening simultaneously in my city, and this cultural life reminds me of one of the best nights I spent in January, in the middle of the Jazz Plaza 2025 Festival.

One of the biggest attractions of the festival was the pianist Alejandro Falcón, who at the opening gala of the festival was accompanying the iconic group "Buena Vista Social Club". That day I noticed the virtuosity of this artist, so when I found out that he would have a space where he would be giving a concert I understood that I could not miss it.

Before 7 pm I was already sitting in the Roof Garden of the Casa Granda Hotel, waiting with my friends for everything to start. Once it started, it was truly magical.

Alejandro Falcón was accompanied only by a trumpeter. Being used to listening to larger format jazz groups, I was very surprised to hear what only two artists could create. Then a violin student from the city conservatory joined them and together they began to improvise.

It is difficult for me to express in words all the emotions that crossed me that day. It was something sublime. Being there, interacting directly with him and his music, feeling at the right time and place, all that made an unforgettable memory in me.

At the end I took a moment to ask them for a photo and thank them for that waste of talent. Thus ended for me one of the most exciting concerts I have attended so far this year.

Hola a todos los hivers que se encuentran este día para traer recuerdos a #ThrowbackThursday. Hoy me siento bastante inspirado, pues en mi ciudad están ocurriendo varios festivales de manera simultánea, y esta vida cultural me recuerda a una de las mejores noches que pasé en enero, en medio del Festival Jazz Plaza 2025.

Una de las mayores atracciones del festival era el pianista Alejandro Falcón, quien en la gala inaugural del festival estuvo acompañando a la icónica agrupación "Buena Vista Social Club". Ese día noté el virtuosismo de este artista, así que cuando me enteré que tendría un espacio en el que estaría dando un concierto entendí que no me lo podía perder.

Antes de las 7 de la noche ya estaba sentado en el Roof Garden del Hotel Casa Granda, esperando con mis amigos a que todo comenzara. Una vez inició, fue verdaderamente mágico.

Alejandro Falcón se hizo acompañar únicamente de un trompetista. Al estar acostumbrado a escuchar grupos de jazz de mayor formato, me sorprendió mucho el escuchar lo que podían crear únicamente dos artistas. Luego, un estudiante de violín del conservatorio de la ciudad se les unió y juntos comenzaron a improvisar.

Me cuesta expresar con palabras todas las emociones que me recorrieron ese día. Fue algo sublime. El estar allí, interactuar directamente con él y con su música, sentirme en el momento y el lugar correctos, todo eso hizo un recuerdo inolvidable en mí.

Al finalizar aproveché un momento para pedirles una foto y agradecerles ese derroche de talento. Así terminaba para mí uno de los conciertos más emocionantes a los que he asistido en lo que va de año.
