Jueves de TBT El desfile de Carnaval (ESP/ENG)

Today I bring some pictures from several years ago, it's about the famous but now extinct carnival parades in the city of San Diego, I remember that I went every year with my family and friends but for some reason I almost never took pictures or they were the ones who took them and I forgot to ask them to pass them to me, so I really have very few memories of those days, even so I would like to share them with you, I hope you like it 😉.

Hoy traigo unas fotografía de hace ya varios años, se trata de los famosos pero ya extintos desfiles del carnaval de la ciudad de San Diego, recuerdo que yo iba todos los años con mi familia y amigos pero por alguna razón casi nunca tomaba fotos o eran ellos los que las tomaban y yo olvidaba pedirles que me las pasaran, así que yo tengo realmente muy pocos recuerdos de esos días, aún así me gustaría compartirlos con ustedes, espero les guste 😉.

On this occasion it was already evening and it was after the performance of the Don Bosco school band to which my sister belonged, specifically in the corps de ballet. Every year we accompanied the band in the parade to assist the kids with the logistics and everything they might need, it was a tiring but fun activity, and best of all, the Don Bosco School band show and the La Salle School band show were the most awaited every year, People always acclaimed them because their performance was out of the ordinary, some musicians even let go of their instruments and joined the corps de ballet, it is a pity that I don't have photographs or videos of those moments, and at the end everything ended in ovations and praise from the public and the mayor. I remember that on one occasion the Don Bosco Band even won first place in an international competition, a great achievement.

En esta ocasión era ya de noche y fue después de la presentación de la banda del colegio Don Bosco a la cual pertenecía mi hermana, específicamente en el cuerpo de baile. Todos los años acompañábamos a la banda en el desfile para asistir a los chicos con la logística y todo lo que pudieran necesitar, era una actividad agotadora pero divertida, y lo mejor de todo es que el show de la banda del Colegio Don Bosco y el del Colegio La Salle eran los más esperados cada año, la gente siempre los aclamaba porque sus performance eran fuera de lo común, incluso algunos músicos soltaban sus instrumentos y se unían al cuerpo de baile, es una lástima que no conserve fotografías o videos de esos momentos, y al final todo terminaba en ovaciones y elogios por parte del público y el alcalde. Recuerdo que en una ocasión la Banda Don Bosco llegó a obtener el primer lugar en una competencia internacional, un gran logro.

And on this other occasion I managed to attend with a costume, as I always wanted to, since almost everyone else was going this way, so I managed to rummage through my wardrobe, plus some accessories that my best friend lent me and I managed to design a gypsy girl costume. That day I couldn't attend the band because I was parading with my friends from the circus where I worked for a few months, at that time I couldn't even take pictures because I was parading, throwing candies and greeting people, it was really fun and something unforgettable for me.

Y en esta otra ocasión logré asistir con un disfraz, como siempre quise, ya que casi todo el mundo iba de esta manera, de modo que logré revolver mi armario, además de algunos accesorios que me prestó mi mejor amiga y logré diseñar un disfraz de chica gitana. Ese día no pude asistir a la banda ya que yo andaba desfilando con mis amigos del circo donde trabajé durante unos meses, en ese momento ni pude tomar fotografías precisamente por andar desfilando, lanzando caramelos y saludando a la gente, de verdad fue muy divertido y algo inolvidable para mi.

I remember when we passed in front of where my mum and my cousin were, I stopped to have some water and juice because I was very thirsty, so my cousin took this picture. The sun was quite intense that afternoon.

Recuerdo que cuando pasamos frente a donde estaban mi mamá y mi primo me detuve a tomar un poco de agua y jugo porque yo estaba muy sedienta, entonces mi primo tomó esta fotografía. El sol estaba bastante intenso aquella tarde.

The following year I paraded again with the circus but without wearing a costume, however I only had the pictures left when we were already back in the tent, super tired after the exhausting but fun working day, we sang, laughed and had a lot of fun. Although it also made us nostalgic because it was the last day of the circus in that city and the last arena in which I worked with them, I worked a total of three arenas with that circus and it was an experience I will never forget.

Al año siguiente volví a desfilar con el circo pero sin usar disfraz, sin embargo solo me quedaron las fotografías cuando ya estábamos de regreso a la carpa, super cansados tras la extenuante pero divertida jornada, cantamos, nos reímos y disfrutamos un montón, aunque también nos dio nostalgia porque era el último día del circo en esa ciudad y la última plaza en la que yo trabajaba con ellos, trabajé en total tres plazas con ese circo y fue una experiencia que jamás olvidaré.

Anyway, I lived unforgettable moments in those carnival parades, so I keep very good memories of those days, and as always it has been an honour to share with you all these precious memories of my life, I send you a big hug Happy TBT Thursday! 😃
