Enjoying a good coffee in a warm and friendly atmosphere - La Canasta - ☕️

In Spain there are so many coffee shops, I once thought there were more coffee shops than people. Coffee is a tradition, a custom and a way of life in Spain. And here in Malaga with its particular style, where there are special names for the different types of coffee, unique in the whole peninsula.

After a pleasant walk and stroll with my companion, where we walked through the central streets, visited a museum and shared good conversations, we decided to have a good coffee.

The sun was already setting on the horizon, but life in the city was in full swing. Full of tourists and people walking and sightseeing.

Having gone for coffee in other places, which have a special brand or reputation, I didn't think I would have such a good experience in this place.

The bakery La Canasta is one of the best known in the city, and there are many of them scattered all over Malaga.

Being a franchise, I was surprised by the quality of their products.

One might think that because it is something generalised, like hairdressers who are also franchises, the quality would be average, but in this case it wasn't. In the different places where there is a bakery, the quality of the products is very good.

In the different places where there is a La Canasta bakery there is also a cafeteria, they always have several services.

The exterior decoration is already impressive, it is very delicate with its lights, its eye-catching signs and the possibility of enjoying their products on terraces outside.

But the interior is no less impressive. It is very eye-catching, very well ordered and arranged, you can enjoy an atmosphere of warmth and familiarity.

Everything is very clean and the waiters are always very helpful. The place is constantly busy and the service is excellent.

As soon as I entered I noticed the decorations on the walls, from hanging hams, lights and paintings. A lot of variety of colour, different types of ambience and the place is very well lit.

I thought it was a beautiful place to spend an afternoon, chat, enjoy a good coffee and good company.

The place was full, we barely managed to get a table that had been occupied a few moments ago. The waitress quickly cleared it and we were able to take a seat.

This time we only ordered coffee, but I know personally that their cakes and pastries are delicious.

My companion and I ordered a café con leche, which for this area of Málaga Capital would be the equivalent of ordering just a mitad, as they call it here.

Depending on the amount of milk in the coffee it has a different name and this is what makes this city unique, among other things, from the rest of Spain.

The coffee was large, compared to others I have had in other cafés, and the foam is very eye-catching and tasty.

In general, I must say that I really like the coffee from this place and other of their products, its quality is noticeable.

The service is marvellous, the waiters are very friendly and helpful, always attentive to every new customer that comes in.

In most coffee shops they serve coffee in small glass cups, but in this case, the cup with their logo and name is beautiful and big.

This is why people always choose La Canasta, and no matter where it is located, it is always crowded.

Of course, it is also a bakery, so they have a variety of products related to it.

In their display cases you can see the variety and quantity of all kinds of sweets, cakes, pastries, sweet and savoury products.

Although I would like to emphasise the quality, I must also talk about the price. The coffee you see cost me 1.55 euros and the truth is that I have not found a better value for money than this.

Another time I went to this place, we ordered two coffees with a slice of carrot cake to share, because we didn't know how it would taste. And all this cost us around 7 euros. So I see that the prices of the place are very good and affordable.

A good atmosphere for a good time. That is a very important factor.

Another thing I must highlight is the art I could find on one of the walls, it is beautiful. A sequence of master bakers making bread. I was pleased to find all this decoration and ambience.

We were very satisfied with everything that this bakery and café represents and of course I will come back and I recommend it 100%.
