Aprendiendo de Serigrafía en la Universidad

Holaa gente linda de hive, espero hayan tenido un bonito día. Paso por aquí el día de hoy para contarles como fue mi experiencia aprendiendo sobre serigrafía en la universidad.

Como algunos ya saben, estoy estudiando diseño gráfico y una de las materias que estoy viendo en este momento es "técnicas de impresión" donde obviamente nos han enseñado distintas técnicas y sistemas de impresión tanto digitales como no, entre ellas la más reciente fue la serigrafía que se trata de transferir pintura a una superficie por medio de una malla estirada en un marco.

La evaluación se dividió en dos días, el primero nos encargamos de armar el bastidor, que es el marco con la malla. Para eso compramos un lienzo y lo desarmamos para usar el marco de madera, también compramos tela organza blanca y con una engrapadora de tapicería nos encargamos de grapar la tela en el marco, por su puesto, cuidando que quedara lo más prensada posible.

Al segundo día nos pusimos manos a la obra para realizar la impresión en una franela. Para eso utilizamos una franela, pintura textil, una tarjeta y acetato. En el acetato recortamos nuestro diseño, que fue una estrella y luego hicimos el proceso de serigrafía como tal. Colocamos la camisa en una superficie plana, arriba de eso el acetato con el diseño, luego el bastidor que realizamos y por último la pintura que fuimos estirando con la tarjeta.

El proceso resultó exitoso sin embargo, no se si fue por la calidad de la pintura, quedó un poco opaco, por lo cual una de mis compañeras decidió pasarle otra mano de pintura con un pincel y así quedó mejor.

Me gustó mucho esta experiencia y el aprendizaje que nos dejó esta evaluación y agradezco el grupo que me tocó, ya que todos fuimos muy responsables (cabe destacar que los grupos no los escogimos nosotros jajajajajaa)

Learning about Screen Printing in College

Hello beautiful people of hive, I hope you had a nice day. I'm stopping by today to tell you about my experience learning about screen printing in college.

As some of you already know, I'm studying graphic design and one of the subjects I'm studying at the moment is "printing techniques" where obviously we have been taught different techniques and printing systems both digital and not, among them the most recent one was screen printing which is about transferring paint to a surface by means of a mesh stretched on a frame.

The evaluation was divided into two days, the first day we were in charge of assembling the frame, which is the frame with the mesh. For that we bought a canvas and disassembled it to use the wooden frame, we also bought white organza fabric and with an upholstery stapler we stapled the fabric to the frame, of course, taking care that it was as tight as possible.

On the second day we got down to work to make the print on a flannel. We used a flannel, textile paint, a card and acetate. On the acetate we cut out our design, which was a star, and then we did the actual silkscreen printing process. We placed the shirt on a flat surface, on top of that the acetate with the design, then the frame that we made and finally the paint that we stretched with the card.

The process was successful, however, I don't know if it was because of the quality of the paint, it was a little opaque, so one of my colleagues decided to apply another coat of paint with a brush and it was better.

I really liked this experience and the learning that this evaluation left us and I am grateful for the group that I was in, since we were all very responsible (it should be noted that the groups were not chosen by us hahahahahahaa).
