Hoy tuve la oportunidad de asistir a un WorkShop de una Academia de Danza Cristiana de mi ciudad llamada ''Vida''. Ellas cumplen su 4to Aniversario y lo festejaron brindando sus conocimientos.
Hace unos días me extendieron la invitación y no podía decir que no, hace muchos años bailé en la iglesia, que justamente es la iglesia que dirige el papá de las directoras de esta academia y tengo muy lindos recuerdos de esos momentos.
Desde que inicié mi proceso de reconciliación con Dios pensé en hacerlo a través de la danza que considero es uno de los dones que él me brindó y este taller sería un buen inicio.
El taller iniciaba a las 8:30 am así que salí de casa bien temprano, con mi bolso lleno de todo lo necesario para pasar mi día en el taller y en el trabajo.
Al llegar me recibieron en la entrada con mucho cariño y me hicieron pasar, me comentaron que tenían un mural de mensajes donde querían que les dejáramos un mensaje a la academia.

Today I had the opportunity to attend a WorkShop of a Christian Dance Academy in my city called ‘'Vida’'. They are celebrating their 4th Anniversary and they celebrated it by offering their knowledge.
A few days ago they extended me the invitation and I could not say no, many years ago I danced in the church, which just happens to be the church run by the father of the directors of this academy and I have very nice memories of those moments.
Since I began my process of reconciliation with God I thought of doing it through dance, which I consider to be one of the gifts he gave me and this workshop would be a good start.
The workshop started at 8:30 am so I left home early, with my bag full of everything I needed to spend my day at the workshop and at work.
They told me that they had a message mural where they wanted me to leave a message to the academy.
El taller demoró unos minutos en iniciar, supongo que esperaban a que llegaran más personas, yo tomé asiento en la primera fila y no observaba mucho hacia la entrada. Estaba sola y suelo ser bastante tímida cuando estoy sola. A pesar de todos los años que llevo trabajando con personas, hablando en público, dando clases, no logro eliminar ese miedo.
En la pantalla se proyectaba el logo de la academia. En un determinado momento las chicas de la academia subieron al púlpito y dieron inicio a la actividad con un hermoso vídeo de un trabajo maravilloso que realizaron hace unos meses.
Las primeras en hablar fueron las líderes, Egrelin y Greiberlin. A ellas las conocí hace mucho tiempo cuando asistía a esta iglesia.
The workshop took a few minutes to start, I guess they were waiting for more people to arrive, I took a seat in the front row and didn't look much towards the entrance. I was alone and I am usually quite shy when I am alone. Despite all the years I have been working with people, speaking in public, teaching, I still can't get rid of that fear.
On the screen was projected the logo of the academy. At a certain moment the girls of the academy went up to the pulpit and started the activity with a beautiful video of a wonderful work they did a few months ago.
The first to speak were the leaders, Egrelin and Greiberlin. I met them a long time ago when I attended this church.
Las líderes hermanas comenzaron el workshop hablando sobre los fundamentos de la danza. Mencionaron que la danza tiene 5 fundamentos y ellas los direccionaban hacia la danza cristiana.
Estos fundamentos ya los conocía pero nunca está demás refrescar el conocimiento.
El primer fundamento del que hablaron fue:
Objetivos:
Siempre que queremos crear un set coreográfico debemos tener muy claro los objetivos de este set, a través de este ''por qué'' podemos desarrollar mucho mejor el mensaje que queremos transmitir con nuestros pasos.
The sister leaders began the workshop by talking about the fundamentals of dance. They mentioned that dance has 5 fundamentals and they directed them towards Christian dance.
I already knew these fundamentals but it is never too much to refresh the knowledge.
The first foundation they talked about was:
Objectives:
Whenever we want to create a choreographic set we must have very clear the objectives of this set, through this ''why'' we can develop much better the message we want to convey with our steps.
El segundo fundamento fue:
Música:
La música que escogemos debe tener coherencia con la coreografía y el lugar a dónde presentaremos dicho set. En el caso de la danza cristiana, si el caso es una coreografía para presentar en una santa cena debemos escoger una canción que hable de vino, cena, mesa, momento con Dios, etc.
Mientras ellas hablaban de cada fundamento to apuntaba en mi libreta toda la información.
El tercer fundamento fue:
Diseños:
Los diseños tienen que ver con la planigrafía de la coreografía, es decir, posiciones, transiciones, desplazamientos. Cada paso que se da en una coreografía es parte de la misma y por eso todo debe verse armonioso y con sentido.

Music:
The music we choose must be coherent with the choreography and the place where we will present the set. In the case of Christian dance, if the case is a choreography to present in a holy dinner we should choose a song that talks about wine, dinner, table, moment with God, etc.
While they talked about each foundation I wrote down in my notebook all the information.
The third foundation was:
Designs:
The designs have to do with the planigraphy of the choreography, that is, positions, transitions, displacements. Each step in a choreography is part of the choreography and therefore everything must look harmonious and meaningful.

Siguieron con el 4to fundamento:

En la danza podemos usar diversos elementos para complementar el dinamismo de nuestro set y dar mucho más sentido al mensaje. En la danza cristiana hay elementos tradicionales que son los más comunes como: mantos, panderos, abanicos y los no tradicionales como: copas, coronas, banderas, biblias.
El quinto y último elemento fue:
Práctica:
Creo que es el elemento principal. Una danza sin práctica no es danza, en la práctica corregimos detalles, limpiamos, agregamos elegancia y dureza a los pasos, corregimos expresiones y desplazamientos y con cada detalle se va dando forma a nuestro set.
Después de la parte teórica nos dieron unos minutos de descanso para comenzar la parte práctica dónde nos hablarían de la danza contemporánea. Esta parte fue dirigida por otras dos profesoras.

In dance we can use various elements to complement the dynamism of our set and give much more meaning to the message. In Christian dance there are traditional elements that are the most common such as: mantles, tambourines, fans and non-traditional elements such as: cups, crowns, flags, bibles.
The fifth and last element was:
Practice:
I think it is the main element. A dance without practice is not a dance, in practice we correct details, we clean up, we add elegance and hardness to the steps, we correct expressions and displacements and with each detail we shape our set.
After the theoretical part we were given a few minutes of rest to begin the practical part where we would talk about contemporary dance. This part was led by two other teachers.
Esta segunda parte inició con una pequeña charla sobre las posiciones básicas de la danza contemporánea y la definición de la misma. Luego tuvimos un largo calentamiento.
En la parte del calentamiento no pude tomar fotos pues estaba realizando los ejercicios.
Luego de los calentamientos nos explicaron 2 tipos de rollings y 3 tipos de desplazamientos.
Para practicar los rollings colocaron unos colchones en el suelo para evitar lesiones y golpes pues uno de ellos era la vuelta de reversa y sin colchón muchas podían lesionarse el cuello, súper peligroso.
This second part started with a short talk about the basic positions of contemporary dance and the definition of it. Then we had a long warm up.
In the warm up part I could not take pictures because I was doing the exercises.
After the warm up they explained 2 types of rollings and 3 types of displacements.
To practice the rollings they placed some mattresses on the floor to avoid injuries and blows because one of them was the reverse roll and without a mattress many could injure their necks, super dangerous.

Luego de toda esta práctica, comenzamos a ensayar un pequeño set coreográfico que me pareció bastante hermoso pero lamentablemente tampoco pude grabar.
Al finalizar hicimos la última muestra, nos ofrecieron un pequeño refrigerio mientras realizaban un sorteo de dos bolsos con el logo de la academia y dos matriculas para sus próximos talleres.
Como siempre, tengo muy mala suerte para los sorteos.
Nos tomamos la foto final, yo decidí tomarme una en el banner de la academia y estábamos listas para partir.
Me encantó muchísimo poder realizar este taller porque conocí otras chicas e incluso algunas me reconocieron pues aseguraban que habían escrito al whatsapp o instagram de la academia y me dijeron que seguían interesadas.
Quedé en comunicarme con las chicas de la academia para realizar algunos talleres y adquirir estos conocimientos sobre la danza cristiana y ofrecer mi talento y don al Señor.
Fue una mañana bastante enriquecedora.

After all this practice, we began to rehearse a small choreographic set that I found quite beautiful but unfortunately I could not record it either.
At the end we did the last show, they offered us a small snack while they raffled off two bags with the logo of the academy and two registration tickets for their next workshops.
As always, I have very bad luck with raffles.
We took the final picture, I decided to take one on the academy's banner and we were ready to go.
I really loved being able to do this workshop because I met other girls and even some of them recognized me because they said they had written to the whatsapp or instagram of the academy and told me they were still interested.
I agreed to communicate with the girls of the academy to do some workshops and acquire this knowledge about Christian dance and offer my talent and gift to the Lord.
It was a very enriching morning.
