Hoy es nuestra segunda edición de Convinarte y me pareció chévere hablarles un poco de lo que fueron las obras de los participantes y el desarrollo de la actividad anterior.
Desde muy chica he estado rodeada de arte, mi padre es pintor y siempre buscó la manera de motivarme a pintar regalándome lienzos, óleos y explicándome técnicas mientras pintaba sus cuadros.
El poder tomar un pincel y replicar algo que veo se me hace relativamente sencillo porque tengo las bases, y a veces se me olvida que no todos contamos con esta habilidad.
Algo que veo sencillo, puede ser todo un reto para otra persona y es comprensible. Esto lo viví mucho durante nuestro primer evento, las personas dudaban mucho antes de dar una pincelada.

Today is our second edition of Convinarte and I thought it was cool to tell you a little of what were the works of the participants and the development of the previous activity.
Since I was a child I have been surrounded by art, my father is a painter and he always looked for a way to motivate me to paint by giving me canvases, oils and explaining me techniques while he painted his paintings.
Being able to take a brush and replicate something I see is relatively easy for me because I have the basics, and sometimes I forget that not all of us have this ability.
Something that I see as simple, can be a challenge for someone else and understandably so. I experienced this a lot during our first event, people hesitated a lot before giving a brushstroke.
Lo primero fue el trazado a lápiz. Las personas debían hacer un leve boceto para saber donde ubicar los elementos dentro del cuadro.
Esto lo dejé a su elección, podían seguir el diseño tal cual o distribuir todo de forma diferente según sus gustos.
Muchos intentaron replicar lo que veían y se frustraban un poco al no lograr un resultado similar.
Esto suelo verlo mucho con mis alumnos de pintura, pensaba que no era posible con personas adultas pero la verdad es que sí. 😅
The first thing was the pencil drawing. People had to make a slight sketch to know where to place the elements within the painting.
This I left to their choice, they could follow the design as it was or distribute everything differently according to their tastes.
Many tried to replicate what they saw and got a little frustrated when they did not achieve a similar result.
I tend to see this a lot with my painting students, I thought it wasn't possible with adults but the truth is it is. 😅
¿Agregarle color? un reto más grande. Hubo una chica que dudaba muchísimo para dar la primera pincelada. Literal tuve que sentarme con ella y mancharle el cuadro jajaja
A partir de ahí comenzó a avanzar y se sentía más segura a la hora de agregarle color a su cuadro.
A muchos se les daba de forma natural, a otros había que darles un empujoncito.
Había mucha pena de por medio, se sentían inseguros de ciertos detalles pero mi trabajo era guiarlos y hacerlos sentir cómodos con lo que iban pintando.
Adding color? a bigger challenge. There was one girl who was very hesitant to give the first brush stroke. I literally had to sit with her and stain her painting hahaha.
From there she started to move forward and felt more confident about adding color to her painting.
For many it came naturally, for others you had to give them a little push.
There was a lot of pain involved, they felt unsure of certain details but my job was to guide them and make them feel comfortable with what they were painting.
Hubo un estilista, famoso en nuestra ciudad, al cual invitamos a participar. Desde el principio fue muy receptivo con la actividad y nos apoyó mucho en cuanto a hacer videos y difundir la información.
Disfrutó mucho la actividad y antes de irse nos lo hizo saber. Ya luego mostraba orgulloso su cuadro y lo mostró por sus redes en repetidas ocasiones.
Su apoyo ha sido fundamental tanto en la pasada edición, como en esta y eso lo agradecemos un mundo. Ya luego les cuento como nos ha estado ayudando en esta ocasión.
There was a stylist, famous in our city, whom we invited to participate. From the beginning he was very receptive to the activity and was very supportive in terms of making videos and spreading the word.
He really enjoyed the activity and let us know before he left. He was already proud of his painting and showed it through his networks on several occasions.
His support has been fundamental both in the last edition and in this one and we are very grateful for that. I will tell you later how he has been helping us this time.
A la actividad invitamos también a un caricaturista, esto fue súper porque el nos obsequió 2 caricaturas para rifar ese día.
Una de ellas la ganó nuestro amigo estilista y la otra una chica que fue junto a sus amigos.
La verdad es que quedaron espectaculares, idénticos a ellos.
We also invited a caricaturist to the activity, this was great because he gave us 2 caricatures to raffle that day.
One of them was won by our stylist friend and the other one by a girl who went with her friends.
The truth is that they were spectacular, identical to them.
Todos los cuadros quedaron súper coloridos. Cada una de las personas le agregó su toque personal. Incluso hubo una chica que me contó que en él había pintado las galletas que le obsequiamos, su perrita y la inicial de su mamá que está en el cielo.
Eso era exactamente lo que quería lograr, que personalizaran su cuadro y le agregaran detalles que los hiciera únicos. Que disfrutaran el momento y se llevaran algo que los identificara, a pesar de que estaban tomando referencia de una obra ya hecha.
Fue una muy buena actividad, aunque duramos más tiempo de lo planificado. Es por ello que para esta ocasión decidí pintar algo más sencillo, bueno pienso yo jajaja, y que no demoraran tanto haciendo.

All the pictures were super colorful. Each one of the people added their personal touch. There was even a girl who told me that she had painted the cookies we gave her, her dog and her mom's initial that is in heaven.
That was exactly what I wanted to achieve, that they would personalize their picture and add details that would make them unique. I wanted them to enjoy the moment and take away something that identified them, even though they were taking reference from an already made work.
It was a very good activity, although it lasted longer than planned. That's why for this occasion I decided to paint something simpler, well I think hahaha, and that didn't take so long to do.
