Así que, en un arrebato de grandeza, decidimos visitar una elegante cafetería llamada Granier, una cadena internacional que refleja bastante bien ese aire sofisticado.
Sometimes it's easy to lose perspective and think that our economic situation allows us to enjoy luxuries that, in reality, we can't always afford. So, in a fit of grandeur, we decided to visit an elegant coffee shop called Granier, an international chain that reflects that sophisticated air quite well.
Desde el primer momento, la decoración minimalista y elegante nos atrapó: tonos verde aceituna combinados con detalles en mostaza y dorados crean un ambiente acogedor. Sin embargo, como esta visita fue inesperada, no íbamos vestidos para la ocasión, sino más bien acorde a nuestra situación socioeconómica... es decir, con un estilo más humilde. ¡Vaya contraste! 😂
From the very first moment, the minimalist and elegant décor caught our attention: olive green tones combined with mustard and gold details create a cozy atmosphere. However, as this visit was unexpected, we were not dressed for the occasion, but rather according to our socio-economic situation... that is to say, with a more humble style. What a contrast!
A pesar de eso, disfrutamos de la experiencia, aunque debo decir que resultó un poco sobrevalorada. La dona cubierta y rellena de chocolate estaba buena, pero no era nada que no hubiera probado antes. El frappé de galletas me decepcionó bastante por su precio de $7; esperaba algo más especial. En cuanto al dulce de hojaldre, también estuvo bien, pero nuevamente, no era un sabor único.
Despite that, we enjoyed the experience, although I must say it was a bit overpriced. The chocolate covered and filled donut was good, but nothing I hadn't tried before. The cookie frappé was quite disappointing for its $7 price tag; I was expecting something more special. As for the flaky fudge, it was also good, but again, not a unique flavor.
Un aspecto destacable fue la atención del personal; el chico que nos atendió fue muy amable y atento en todo momento, lo cual es uno de los puntos positivos del lugar. Aunque no probamos los platillos del menú, pudimos ver algunas opciones que pidieron otros clientes. Tenían buena pinta, pero las porciones eran pequeñas; algo esperable en un lugar dirigido a personas con mayores ingresos que buscan experiencias más exclusivas.
A highlight was the attention of the staff; the guy who served us was very friendly and attentive at all times, which is one of the plus points of the place. Although we did not try the dishes on the menu, we were able to see some options that other customers ordered. They looked good, but the portions were small; something to be expected in a place aimed at people with higher incomes who are looking for more exclusive experiences.
No quiero criticar completamente el lugar; realmente disfrutamos del momento y hay cosas que nos gustaron. Sin embargo, creo que en términos de calidad-precio está un poco sobrevalorado. Siempre es bueno explorar nuevos lugares y darles una oportunidad, incluso si al final decides que no es un sitio al que volverías con regularidad.
I don't want to completely criticize the place; we really enjoyed the moment and there are things we liked. However, I think in terms of value for money it's a bit overpriced. It's always good to explore new places and give them a chance, even if in the end you decide it's not a place you would return to regularly.
