Lunch in Pasent

What is Pasent, you might ask. I also wondered when we were there, but it seems that this is a completely normal question that many visitors to this restaurant have asked. The owners even wrote a whole explanation so that there would be no more confusion. On the first page of the menu you see in the first picture, we can read a text about the name of the restaurant Pasent before starting to choose a dish.

We came here on the recommendation of my husband's friend. The occasion was a little gathering in Novi Sad with other Hivers, a walk at the Petrovaradin fortress and later lunch in Sremski Karlovci and a short walk. Coincidence or not, I'm writing this post today just as my husband is getting ready and packing for his trip to Hive Fest. I hope that everyone who goes will have a good time and of course that the meeting will be beneficial for the chain and make it stronger.

This little gathering of ours cannot be compared to this big event that starts tomorrow, although we also had a nice time. Four Hivers found refreshment and energy there for an additional walk around Sremski Karlovci. I have to admit that I was a little sceptical about the choice of the restaurant because my husband's cousin commented in a phone conversation that it was unreasonably expensive. We were proved wrong because the prices were reasonable and the place was really nice.

It is located by the river Danube which brings freshness, however, it was a very warm day so we decided to eat inside because it was air-conditioned. As a good Hiver, I took a look outside as well before my dish arrived.

In the middle of this garden, we have a green area, a lawn around which tables are placed on patios made from old bricks. Maybe that was actually the original layout and design of this garden in the past... at least that's how it seems to me. The flowers that delighted me were hydrangeas; my grandmother had them in her garden too.

There is a closed terrace before you enter the house. Yes, house, I felt like being at someone's home and not strictly in a restaurant. There, in the corner, something was hiding...

The interior of the Pasent restaurant was very original. It was a mix of old and rustic furniture with new and modern elements which in the end gave me a great impression. I loved it and I hope to be able to do something similar (refurbish some old furniture and give it a new and different style) when I might need to.

There were some interesting messages hanging on the columns of the house. The first says to be gentle with yourself, and the second message holds a secret - Secrets are in fashion.

Our lunch arrived so I stopped strolling around and focused on the meal. I ordered chicken breast which was tasty with sauce and vegetables but too big so I could not finish it. I don't like leaving food on my plate but everyone got huge portions so nobody could help me with mine.

Pasent was a good choice, without any doubt. Good service and tasty food as well as the pleasant ambience make me wish to go back one day if our paths again bring us to Novi Sad and Sremski Karlovci.
