Life is sweet but too short. Every time I look at myself I say that one day I will be someone's husband and father. Pain in marriage today is what every man fears. There are really things happening in marriages especially when you marry the wrong wife or husband.
I sometimes think about it but I am a man and I have feelings. The relationship is sweet and I called it an introduction to marriage. One night I told my girlfriend that I was afraid of getting married and she said why? Out of shame and I told her I didn't even have any reason for that.
She looked at me and said are men of my caliber afraid of getting married? Why am I dating her? I wish I would have answered that because I am not ready for that question. All I know is that I am afraid of getting married. She laughed. I have a lot of things on my mind that I don't want to tell her. I love her but I am afraid of getting married that's all.
One day I sat down and thought really deeply about it and I couldn't come up with any answer. Is this weird or am I missing something? People are happy when they get married and some cry when they get married. What a confusion! I am 32 years old but I am still afraid of getting married. My friends once told me that marriage is a slavery especially if you marry an ungrateful woman who doesn’t appreciate your little effort.
Well, they may be telling the truth because some of them are married. They may have had that experience. I remember them saying that women are blessings to men. I always take my mother as an example, she is very hardworking, very grateful but some of the women nowadays are very difficult and hard to date. Is that the reason I am afraid of getting married? The answer is I don’t know yet hahaha.
I think that eventually I will be interested in getting married but now some women are something else. Very annoying. One day I was walking and I saw my neighbor kicking his wife out of the house and I went over to beg him. The man told me that if he was told that his wife was cheating on me, he would not believe it. He said that he had opened a boutique for her and he was giving her 50,000 naira a month, but she was not satisfied and I smiled and said, don’t you think you are missing something? The man replied no because he did everything expected from me as a husband. Well, I told him to try to come to an agreement with his wife. What he is doing now is not right.
Why am I bringing the story here? Because some men do not really understand what their partner wants apart from giving them money every month or every day. This is one of the problems facing marriages. If the partner does not understand, that means there is a problem. If you are not ready to put up with nonsense in marriage, then do not get married. As for me, I am still seeking God’s direction and the right time. Thank you so much for reading this!
