This week at the university, Guidance Counselor Day was celebrated. I bring it up because it's one of the new responsibilities I've taken on within the university. I oversee three sections in this area, which I consider important for the best educational and emotional performance of students.
In this teaching job, many teachers from the old school consider that we, the new ones, aren't up to their standards. I tell you, everything requires vocation; that makes the difference in wanting to be better and giving our all for a good education for students.
On this path, there is much to unlearn in order to offer a more critical, positive view of what education should be today. This role as a counselor goes beyond guiding a program.
Although the behaviorist model will always be necessary, it is important to connect with students with the intention of gaining trust. In many classes, I act as a class counselor and feel equal with them. This allows me to gain much greater participation, and with this method, I have seen changes compared to the beginning.
The counselor must have the necessary tools to handle conflicts even among students. Even though they are at a different level, they arise, and it is important to manage them with patience to reach a solution.
This week, I was so immersed in my role as a counselor that the students are now able to express themselves with greater confidence. Some will continue to work on techniques to improve, others are going through complicated emotional situations, but I am sure they will progress little by little in order to carry on. a better foundation to fully enter their careers with the necessary tools.
The emotional aspect is fundamental, which has been left aside these days. And although we cannot solve everyone's problems or even get involved, it is also true that a student who is experiencing a personal situation that they have not been able to control will not have the same interaction, participation, or performance in a class. I may not be the star teacher 💫 of the university, hehe, but I am sure that my way of working has given students the opportunity to gain confidence, to learn differently, to motivate, and they will surely remember some of our encounters in the future. We will continue working to do an increasingly better job.

Ésta semana en la universidad se celebró el día del orientador, lo traigo a acotación porque es una de las nuevas responsabilidades que asumo dentro de la universidad, atiendo a tres secciones en ésta área, que considero importante para el mejor desempeño tanto educativo como emocional de los estudiantes.
En éste trabajo de profesores, muchos docentes de la vieja escuela consideran que nosotros, los nuevos, no estamos a su altura, pues les cuento que todo necesita vocación, eso hace la diferencia en el querer ser mejor para dar el todo por una buena educación para los estudiantes.
En éste camino hay mucho que desaprender para ofrecer una visión más crítica en el buen sentido de lo que debe ser la educación en la actualidad. Ésta tarea de orientador va más allá de la guía de un programa.
A pesar de que el modelo conductista siempre será necesario, es importante relacionarse con los estudiantes con la intención de ganar confianza, en muchas clases hago mi trabajo de orientador de la clase y me siento con ellos como iguales, ésto me permite ganar mucha más participación, y con éste método he visto los cambios comparando con el inicio.
El orientador debe tener las herramientas necesarias para manejar incluso conflictos entre los estudiantes, porque a pesar de que están a otro nivel, surgen, y es importante manejar con paciencia, para llegar a una solución.
Ésta semana estuve tan inmersa en mi papel como orientadora, que los estudiantes ahora son capaces de expresarse con mayor seguridad, algunos seguirán trabajando técnicas para mejorar, otros están pasando por situaciones emocionales complicadas, pero estoy segura que avanzarán poco a poco a fin de llevar una mejor base para entrar plenamente en sus carreras con las herramientas necesarias.
La parte emocional es fundamental, lo que en estos tiempos se ha dejado a un lado, y aunque no podemos resolver los problemas de todos e incluso involucrarse, también es cierto que un estudiante que éste presentando alguna situación personal que no ha podido controlar, no tendrá la misma interacción, participación, o desempeño en una clase. No seré la docente estrella 💫 de la universidad, Jejeje, pero estoy segura que mi forma de trabajar, le ha dado la oportunidad a los estudiantes de ganar confianza, de aprender de otra manera, de motivar, y seguramente recordarán en un futuro parte de nuestros encuentros. Seguiremos trabajando para hacer cada vez un mejor trabajo.
