Caturday - Crete, Greece edition

Our accommodation had a big, open terrace which was perfect for cats to stop by and visit us on many occasions. A couple of them stopped by multiple times like the orange-white cat on the left. White cat with beautiful blue eyes was hanging out with us only once, few days before we left. My friend gave her some food and she allowed us to pet her. I believe if we stayed longer she would stop by again...

To be honest, I was surprised by all the cats around the island. You can see them on the streets, next to different shops and most likely at beaches/beach bars. Pretty much every beach/beach bar we went to had its own cat which was so cute! Here on the left you can see a big (probably pregnant) cat that was always at the Esperides beach bar, one of our most visited beaches. On the right I took a photo of this black and white cat in a hurry while we were passing by this adorable ice cream shop.

These two cuties were just sleeping at random places, not even the street noise, cars or people passing by didn't bother them. I guess nothing can interrupt the afternoon nap on a hot, sunny day for these Cretan cats!

Another super cute cat from another beach bar. This one we sat few times as we visited Ammos & Ilios beach and I took these photos while we were waiting for our food. As you can probably notice, this cat decided to change the nap spot, maybe the other chair was more comfortable. Once we finished our food and were on our way back to the beach, my friend and I had to stop by and pet this cutie. She was so fluffy and loved a few scratches on the back.
