Moving on to another series of my beer bottle collection. This time I will be showcasing the Greens and the Clears.
I'm have shared three of these bottles in my previous beer bottle collection, so this time will focus on the other three only.
Before I start, I want to reminisce the Sierra Nevada. We first had this at the Marina Sands in Singapore in February 2020. That was the last time I travelled, from Taiwan via Singapore back to UK. Those were the good old days, sipping a beer, watching the beautiful sunset on the top of the most iconic building in Singapore.
Crabbies is a ginger beer that dates back to 1801 from Scotland. I have the feeling I've seen the name around for ages, so I don't know if it's actually a craft beer. Not to worry, I'm not too fussed, they all taste pretty much the same to me!!
Aspall is a cider made from organic apples, and they make a point of stressing the organic part on their bottle. The elongated bottle looks more like a wine than a beer bottle which made it stood out in my collection. According to the bottle, it has a wildflowers aroma. I don't know how wildflower aroma differs from normal flower aroma, but it smelled really nice when I used it to cook my mussels. The Aspall has 6.8% ABV and is one of the highest one in my whole collection.
Kernow Gold has an interesting story. It's from Cornwall, the western part of UK. The story goes it's brewed in an old nuclear bunker, and according to the bottle, it's "a bottle conditioned real ale that has not been sterilised or carbonated but completed its fermentation in the bottle and maturing in there". Does that mean they make the beer, then bottle it immediately? I thought beer will evaporate, so I'm guessing they don't fully seal it, as they have to top it up somehow...
CLEAR BOTTLES
I only have a handful of clear glass bottles in my collection, I don't know why that is. Maybe, you need dark bottles to preserve the taste? Out of these five, three of them were for ciders, so maybe the beer bottle colours do have something to do with the type of beer inside?
I think the Crumpton Oaks label is actually quite cheap and cheesy, given the choice I probably wouldn't buy this. The only reason I got it was because I was looking for a cider to cook my mussels and this was the biggest bottle on offer. And you know what? Despite it's cheap looking label, the mussels turned out really fragrant. Never judge a book by its cover, and never judge a beer by its bottle, I say!!
If you want a bad beer bottle label design, I'd say Premium Vintage fits the bill. The light orange and silver font on white label is so difficult to read and it doesn't stand out at all. Just look at it in between the other two bottles, you would never notice it, let alone when it sits on the supermarket shelf amongst so many other beer.
My favourite label out of these three is the Cornish Gold on the right. I think it's very regal, in black and gold. That's what I call a good design!
April Hive PUD Guessing Contest

just googled Litte Creatures, they have a cupid as their logo, how cute!! And they got a place in London, their restaurant is really cool, I might go and try it out sometime

Defo. We're coming out of the second phase of lockdown tomorrow, the shops are open and we can sit outside of a restaurant!!!

Reading through the post I just realized we had mussels for dinner last night. My daughter cooked it with cream sauce and Kirin, a Japanese white wine. She would have preferred a different type but since we are still under the liquor ban no alcoholic drink can be bought, legally that is. But it still tasted so good. Now I have to try that cider beer with the mussels. I think that will taste just as good or better.

We've tried different types of alcohol to cook our mussels and our conclusion is that they all work well, so don't need anything too expensive. It's definitely one of our favorite meal, so easy to cook and not too expensive
I grew up on Sierra Nevada and Humbolt Red Nectar in the early 90's. Craft beers were just starting to take off and both beers had such intense flavor compared to the piss water legacy American beers. Awesome memory you have drinking your first one.
Good memories as it was my last pre covid travel, plus the venue was stunning.
Although I don't really drink that much, I like the effort that goes into producing craft beer, bit like eating artisan cheese or bread, or a lot of the Japanese food, you're drinking and eating a lot more than what goes into your mouth, if you know what I mean.
That's the hotel with the big surfboard on top of the 3 buildings right?
Yes. Honestly I can only drink 1 or 2 crafts now because they are so heavy. I call them desert beers. I primarily drink Belgian Whites because of the coriander taste and because they are smooth, easy to drink. Cheers! 🍻
Your bottle collection is huge. I prefer the look of the green bittles myself. Some of the beers sounds really good. I've tried Sierra Nevada myself. I had it in North Carolina U.S. It was quite good when I had it.

Not that I have anything against American beer 😄, we've been buying a lot more local beer if possible. But even hubby likes Sierra Nevada, so we've actually bought repeat bottles

I kept all the beer bottles more as a decor because my house doesn't have much furniture, but I'm moving soon so have had to bin them all. I'm a bit sad to see them go to be honest, I have grown quite attached to them.

Yes, Sierra Navada seems like a popular one for many.
A lot of my bottles are small local British brewers, maybe they haven't made to your part of the world yet? Basically I been buying whatever the supermarket have on promotion and they seem to stock a lot of local stuff.
