Wow, this was unexpected… I bought this beer at 50% discount!

Last week I accidentally happened to be next to the hypermarket where I bought the beers for my latest posts from. And my curiosity was really killing me… I needed to go inside and throw a look and see if there were some more craft beers left. I was really surprised to see this!

The Lick It Up, American Pale Ale beer, was being sold at 50% discount! It cost literally like $1,6 so I desperately needed to grab one or two… or what about three? I came with this great idea in no time! No hesitation at all…

This is a price at which you can find Heineken beer at aome stores, for instance, so the deal was a no-brainer! Furthermore I already know that the beers from the Metalhead brewery, that are sold at this hypermarket, are stored properly and taste amazing!

This beer is one of the earliest additions in the lineup of the brewery and is around for more than 3 years now. The label is the same since the very beginning and is quite distinctive. I cannot wait to open this can!

It is Sunday and given the fact my afternoon coffee was already well enjoyed, it is now time for a beer! I noticed the fact that the colors of the coffee bag corresponded quite nicely with this beer label design. Take a look at this!

This really built up even some more elevation on my mood. This great coffee had me prepared for the beer so let’s see how the beer looks in the glass!

Although the head was not that thick and long lasting, the beer looks teally fresh. It is an American Pale Ale so I am expecting a little bit heavier hopping. In the nose I can feel the tropical vibes of the modern variations of the used hops. The color is dark honey with a bit of amber hints. Overall looks a bot more caramel than the desired (by me) color, but this is really not an issue.

In the mouth the beer is quite light, but not watery. It is definitely a dry beer with weak body. This makes it ideal for the warmer days. The lightfullness really brings the hop character upfront and at the same time leaves citrus aftertaste in the mouth. I think for such a cheap price you will really struggle in finding a better beer. For $1,6 it can easily be a daily drinker too!

I really start to wonder about this promo and don’t know if it will be qround for a week or two more. If this is the case I will most likely go and grab a bunch more.

I think that this beer was the best way to end a week in style and I am extremely happy that I foond this extreme deal. After all this is a good craft beer that comes at less than $2 per 440ml, who can beat that? Wish you a pleasant end of the weekent and a prosperous new week!
See you soon!

Cheers and bye!
