The reward of the day: a cold beer

Hello, friends of the world and lovers of the beverage that's made for fun: beer!!! Saturday is finally here, the most perfect day of all and only because Saturdays is the day of The #BeerSaturday Challenge, which is now in its 412th week.

Today I spent the whole day celebrating with friends the birthday of a very special person for all of us. And although there were many beers, food, fun, I will not share with you the pictures of that moment (out of respect for the privacy of my friends), but I will share the pictures I took at home, when I arrived, drinking a delicious beer.

On Friday, while shopping for some things to cook, I picked up two cans of Stella Artois, which cost $2.20 each. My intention was to savor the two beers while I was cooking (if you haven't tried cooking over a beer and listening to music, you don't know what it's like to cook inspired), but I was invited to lunch and the cans had to stay in the fridge until today.

But today the two cans of Stella Artois beer were the perfect closure for this day among friends. As I told you, I got home and I started to watch TV and looked for my favorite series: Friends. While watching the famous episode, which I'm sure many of you have seen a million times, where Ross gets a girlfriend and Rachel is upset, I uncorked my cans and savored them slowly.

It is not the first time I drink Stella Artois, but it is the first time I am interested in knowing about its ingredients and origin. According to what I could read, Stella Artois beer is the best selling Belgian beer in the world and in 2019 it was considered the best International Lager in the world. Will this be true or is Wkipedia lying to me? Well, with a perfect 5° of alcohol, it is smooth on the palate, and has ingredients such as hops, barley malt, corn and water. A friend would say: "available for drinking".

In Wikipedia I could also read some scandals related to the brand, also with its ingredients and even some stories about its advertising campaigns. The gossip is long and good, but unnecessary in this post where the important thing is the beer, which I found particularly delicious, smooth, with a delicate bitterness and a bright golden color.

At the end of this evening, having consumed two Stella Artois, I sit in front of the computer with the certainty that beer is the best drink to chat with friends, to watch movies, to cook, to spend a day at the beach, to fall in love. No doubt about it: life is better with a "birra" and with friends.

Speaking of friends and beers, I'd like to invite my friend @tengolotodo to delight us with a post in The #BeerSaturday Challenge - Week 412, an initiative of the #beer community and the incomparable @detlev.
