A toast to the wolves! | The #BeerSaturday Challenge Week 435

Hello beer lovers at hive!

It was the Classic football day (or soccer, as they call it in the US), and it would be televised during peak hours, with much of the city without electricity, continuing the daily tradition. I set out to find somewhere where there might be even a glimmer of hope of watching it.

Arriving downtown, I found a bar/café with electricity. I could watch the football game! And even better, I could watch it while drinking beer!

I order my first beer, a Cabeza de Lobo brand. I'd never tried it before, so I thought it was the perfect moment to experience it for the first time during this match, which I didn't really have much hope of winning given the state of my favorite team.

Wolves are animals that have always captivated me. In fact, my dog ​​is a Siberian Husky, a breed that closely resembles them physically.

Cabeza de Lobo beer is a Cuban beer that was first brewed in 1960 and had disappeared in recent decades. While initially a strong dark beer with a consistency uncommon in the national market, it always remained in the memory of beer lovers.

Recently, the Bucanero brand resumed production of this beer with a new, much more modern design, somewhat removed from the original vintage look. The one I was able to buy now is not a dark version of the beer; it's a blonde version with a subtle bitter note that lingers pleasantly on the palate.

Its alcohol content is a mere 3.6%. Many mention its similarity to Mayabe, but I really don't find any resemblance. In fact, although it's light, I find its flavor more exquisite.

The match began. The place quickly filled with Real Madrid fans. There were only about four of us Barcelona supporters. I was sure it would be a tough few hours. All I could do was order another beer and grab a pizza too, so I'd at least have something to eat while waiting for the result.

The suffering felt endless. My team, as I'd predicted, was losing, playing terribly. There was no other option but to stand firm and avoid showing defeatism in the interaction with the white guys who felt invincible.

Off to one side of the place, a woman was knitting. What were the odds of finding a woman knitting in a cafe full of men watching football? Typical of my city...

Another beer, imagining I was howling like a wolf to avoid thinking about the other things that were trying to dominate my mind...

The game ends, I sigh, I smile again for no reason, and I say my goodbyes...
